Well, it's going to be a week for sure. I really need to focus on the party. And then I'm booking a week trip to the mountains, no Internet, just to recover from all that social activity, lol. a place where I'll do yoga and get massages daily, and eat only wholesome vegan foods. Hikes and snuggling up with some good books at night.

It is after seven on a Sunday and my Skins are in London with the Bengals.
Due to a scheduling oversight, my day off I thought was today was a ruse. I get to spend my time after the game delivering pizzas to Seahawk fans.

Speaking of football, I am curious as to what allegiances everyone has in regards to NFL football. Or does it even register with you? If you do have a favorite team, how did they become your favorite?


Obviously, I am a Redskins fan. I have been one since Kindergarten when we sat in our multi purpose room at school with televisions around watching the Super bowl parade after they won their first. It is difficult to shake the excitement around you when there is Redskin gear everywhere . Ironically, I do have Native American blood in my veins and was never offended by the name. Even now up here near Seattle where it isn't as PC, I still rock my Skins gear whenever I can.

In the past I have been - it seems to be a cyclical thing for me, just depends on what else I have going. I am nominally a Dallas Cowboy's fan and a San Francisco Giants fan.

In general, I agree with folks - whatever online community you belong to you should take periodic breaks away from the online world. There are nuances out here that can cause more stress then is worth it. I often see people tolerate behavior online that they would not tolerate in real life and I am sure that causes some cognitive dissonance.

Evening Paul, your absolutely correct, some people reach higher levels of outright nastiness in online communities that would leave them befit of any friends in RL. A social media vacation is very eye opening because you regain some separation from manufactured drama's. Being happy and treating others with respect is contagious, as the saying goes...pass it on...
