Spacebar 3.0 >.<

I have similar dreams. You know about them.

Good morning my lovable spacey spacester Litsters!!! I appreciate you all!

Last night when I went to bed my dog was restless so I let her outside. I was wearing panties and a t-shirt, but it was as warm outside as it was in. I wanted to sleep out there, the weather was so delicious! I can't believe it's October and nearing November and the weather is so warm. I absolutely love it!

What's everyone's plans for the day?

Morning back at ya. Today's plans? Washing and waxing my truck and going for a walk at the park. It's really pretty here, has been for he last few days as well. Yeah, it's my favorite of the four seasons so I'm feeling pretty cheerful.

Same. Thus time of year is my favorite and when I'm most energetic. I can be outside all day long and the weather is perfect.

I'm sure I'll be productive and regale some of you with progress pics.

Good morning - it's a steady rainy morning here and very serene. I love the sound of rain hissing on the roof.

My favorite Halloween memories take me back to when I was a kid. The local Church hosted a Halloween party in the community center and my parents organized it. They went all out, year over year, and they were great parties - hundreds of screaming kids in costumes, jacked up on sugar, playing crazy games. Then, at about 8:00 PM we'd all head out in a giant wave of kids and trick or treat through the neighborhoods. In retrospect it was very middle America, Norman Rockwell, time of the year. I was immensely blessed to have loving parents who were engaged in not only our lives but the life of the community.

I'm going to work through the day until about mid-afternoon (I started at the crack of dawn here with some east coast time teleconferences). Then, I am going to look forward to sliding into the evening and going through a couple of boxes of junk I pulled in from storage. LOL - I am not even sure what is in then, other than piles of miscellaneous stuff. Since it's mostly geek related things, it's going to be a mini-Christmas of stuff I forgot I had.

Aw, lost my post. It's what happens when I post in bed on my phone!

That sounds wonderful Paul, it reminds me of my childhood memories. I have a big happy family and my parents are involved with lots of church and community stuff. In the fall my Dad would make decorations out of old corn stalks and we'd do the pumpkin carving thing. Then we'd throw a party and he'd fire up his tractor and people would pile in the wagon, sitting on hay bales. He'd drive back in the valley behind out house and it was full of laughter and fun. Then we'd warm up with hot chocolate or cider, or some sort of spiked drinks.

Around Thanksgiving you have to be careful with all the hunters. But then the party is on my uncles turkey farm. I usually still go every other year.

Tiamo - that's great. I also come from a large (very large) extended family. My father had 17 siblings, so I grew up completely surrounded by cousins, with fond memories of holiday celebrations that numbered in the hundreds of people and were open - bring something to eat and you were welcome, whoever you were. One of my uncles would organize and run a wagon train in the summer - a dozen or so wagon, scores of horses, and we'd wander the rural countryside for a week, camping out in different places each night, then finally ending by riding in the county fair's opening parade. An amazing time.

We have a family reunion every other year, which draws hundreds of people from all over the world. I relate the story that one time I was in Rome on business, in the airport, and someone was calling my name. I was initially ignoring it (I have a common name) and when I finally looked around it was one of my cousins who, unknown to me, lived in Rome.

You and Chris illustrated why I moved away from most MMO's - I like the game part of it, but the waiting, the politics, and the drama eventually just overwhelmed the joy I was having there.

Okay, I am fortified by a couple of cups of coffee and entertainingly diverted by Lit. There are some amazing people out here.

Time to focus back into the work world for a while.

Remember, as you go through the day, stop and take a few minutes to just be and in being, feed your soul and fan your spark.

I think I just got done fanning my spark. :D

Sometimes being in the "now" and fully appreciating simply that helps to re-center ones very self. Dwelling on the past, petty jealousies of others and senseless indignation over trivial matters demoralize and hinder folks.

Just being unafraid to embrace and demand happiness even in the face of adversity is an affirmation of good spirited integrity. So yeah, living in the moment is a pretty rewarding way to treat yourself and others you care about when the slings and arrows of hardship seem inescapable.

Damn, somebody is in a good mood today. lol

You all put me in a good mood. I had a rough evening in that game last night. 99% of the time when people create drama I laugh it off, but sometimes it gets too much. I'll just not log into that game until I'm back to my strong self again.

Morning everyone... altho I just saw it was noon.

I've tried for a slow & quiet morning since I will be running full out Friday afternoon & all day Saturday. The eejit up front should be gone by today. The landlords say they will come Saturday & turn my heat back on.

Once I clear Veterans day (2 weeks worth) my schedule will drop down to quiet & I can finish off the last 1/4 packing & getting rid of some furniture. Then find out when I can move into the new place.
Looking at it as a new year ~ new life.

Morning SA!

Time for me to hop in the shower, get some lunch and maybe hang at the dog park. Always lots of interesting people to talk to there. I'm getting to know the doggie names! My favorite is Finley, the small brown dog that loves to instigate and be chased by bigger digs like Luxie. He also has the craziest yellow eyes. I am going to ask the owner's permission to take a pic.

Thanks for the kind words. This is why Lit friends are the best. :rose:

I try to stay flexible but plan just in case.
Right now most everything are packed in plastic tubs because when this hit it was July & the only plan / worst case was putting everything is storage & living in a cheap motel, in a tent at KOA or couch surfing instead of living in my truck. Things still are not complete but at least I know what my worst case plan to land on my feet was & is.

time to head out to set up for Friday Flag Wave

Make the best of the situation, move on and enjoy life.

Enjoy your day.

Tiamo - and suddenly I have a new euphemism. Fanning the spark. I hope it sparkled well.

Starry - good luck with Flag Friday, hope the move keeps moving smoothly enough and you get a move in date soon.

Chris - that could explain a lot!

TN - life is a rough beast. It really doesn't care what you think about it. It has it's own hungers and needs and wants to simply feed them.

For me, a lot of liberation came with the realization of two things - first, learned from the Stoics, is that life isn't personal (we live under the vast indifference of heaven), and second, from Buddha, is the past is simply the past - the moment passed and there is nothing you can do about it. It's not even real anymore. It's just a memory. The only connection past suffering has to do with the present is memory.

What's everyone's plans for the day?

I just finished my eight hours at the shop.
Within the hour, I will be headed to the pizza place for a few hours.
Then I am only doing pizza tomorrow night and nothing on Sunday, which is a good thing. :)
