Spacebar 3.0 >.<

I just finished my eight hours at the shop.
Within the hour, I will be headed to the pizza place for a few hours.
Then I am only doing pizza tomorrow night and nothing on Sunday, which is a good thing. :)

Don't forget to dress up!!!

Tiamo15: Think if I dress up as a decapitated one legged pink flamingo my dog will be happy?[/QUOTE said:
She's adorable and looks blissfully happy, what a wonderful picture!

I'm sorry I didn't get any cute doggy pics today. I ended up taking a little road trip to the next town.

But I did stumble onto this...

How to Make Your Dog's Day... Bring her Favorite Toy to Life!

That's the thing about retrievers. They truly are just happy dogs. They don't get scared easily, they aren't mean, and there just seems to be something about them that makes them special.

*cough* Chloe is better than Luxie *cough*

:D

Show me what you'd dress up as. (Meaning, show me your Chloe with her favorite toy. ) :cattail:

Tiamo - and suddenly I have a new euphemism. Fanning the spark. I hope it sparkled well.

Starry - good luck with Flag Friday, hope the move keeps moving smoothly enough and you get a move in date soon.

Chris - that could explain a lot!

TN - life is a rough beast. It really doesn't care what you think about it. It has it's own hungers and needs and wants to simply feed them.

For me, a lot of liberation came with the realization of two things - first, learned from the Stoics, is that life isn't personal (we live under the vast indifference of heaven), and second, from Buddha, is the past is simply the past - the moment passed and there is nothing you can do about it. It's not even real anymore. It's just a memory. The only connection past suffering has to do with the present is memory.

Well for Pete's sake Paul. Another person on lit who read about Hellenic philosophy and Stoicism. I still need to read more about Buddhism it confuses me to no ends.

Might as well share the other one I took. I need to use the real camera, she's only a furry puppy once!

That's another really good picture of her. She's got the lightest English Cream coat I believe I've seen.

TN - I was in my early twenties when I stumbled across the Meditations of Marcus Aurelius, who took me to Epictetus, who in turn took me to Lucretius...and then deeper into the Stoics. I tend to prefer Roman Stoicism to Greek Stoicism as the Roman's approached it more from a practical sense, where the Greeks were focused on the pure philosophy. I've never been a renunciant - I think whatever philosophy one ascribes to it must be a suitable tool for dealing with the world as it is.

Buddhism is simply Eastern Stoicism. In Buddhism, start with Zen Buddhism and then venture out into the other streams. One of the huge challenges of Buddhism has been the new age influence, which transforms a pragmatic practice of living in the world into semi-mystical clap trap. Stay away from Alan Watts. Focus on D.T. Suzuki as a starter. Suzuki taught Watts. Watts didn't get it LOL.

(And for sheer life altering entertainment read the Hagakure - which was written as practical advice for Samurai.)

Morning Spacer's What's everyone all about today? Thanks' for the info Paul, I regret not being interested in philosophy when I was younger and first attended collage. Those people I've known who seriously studied it generally did very well in their lives and many went into strong science based fields of employment.

Todays another yard work day but I'm going to try to incorporate some outdoor cooking into the mix.

*starts coffee*

Good morning all.

So today is a relaxing morning and I am planning on doing nothing until I run some errands and get ready for work tonight. :)

Good morning Tnman and Azul! who just so happens said their good mornings already, such sweet guys.

So I didn't plan on playing my video game last night, for one thing, my sound keeps shutting off and I refuse to play with no sound, and I'm always in a grope do I can't log off and in. But my dear dear friend, who I've never seen or heard his voice, but he's been the best friend I could have for 6 years, asked me to play. We had been planning to help him finish an achievement he was very close to getting. He had to win a few games in a particular warfront. 3 games later, he got it! Yay!!! Then we did some randoms, and I got an achievement too I totally forgot I was close to getting! After playing that game for over 6 years, achievements are precious and they tend to be the hardest ones.

I ended the night mistyping as usual on my phones Skype and said "2as fun 😀"

He said, you actually didn't misspell that one, twas indeed fun.

then I started quoting Lewis Caroll and at first he thoughtold I as all sleepy and mistyping like shot, lol. Then he remembered the poem.

Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

“Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!”

I quoted that poem last spring I believe, haha. anyway so as usual cut and paste it to a few Skype friends before bed.

and someone here very precious to me managed to turn it into a gift, the type of gift that I loved and was inspired by! he is so insightful.

I'm very grateful to all of you, how you touch my life in all the obvious and subtle ways.

as for my game friend... don't be shy, someday I hope you say hi to me in here. :rose: and maybe, someday I'll buy you a microphone, perfect shiny and new.

Hey Tiamo good afternoon

Actually, the one that pulled the inspiring message out of that experience, one relevant to my life at this time, is already in here, interacting. He is the bestest!!!

And the other one, just makes sure I'm ok by checking in on Lit now and then.

Both give me the strength to be a better person.

So....

You are at home on a rare day off and it's time for lunch.
You're making it just for yourself, so no worries about others' dietary requirements.
What's your go to?

Keep in mind that unlike my kitchen in real life, the Spacebar is always stocked with food stuffs.

I'm sorry Azul, I am going to take a Lit break.

I'll be putting my Skype back up in case anyone new wants to keep in touch. As long as you're not there to ask me to have cam sex, I'll add some new people. As soon as a cock pic shows up, I'll delete, lol.

Goodbye my lovable Litsters!!!
