That's the thing about retrievers. They truly are just happy dogs. They don't get scared easily, they aren't mean, and there just seems to be something about them that makes them special.

TN - I was in my early twenties when I stumbled across the Meditations of Marcus Aurelius, who took me to Epictetus, who in turn took me to Lucretius...and then deeper into the Stoics. I tend to prefer Roman Stoicism to Greek Stoicism as the Roman's approached it more from a practical sense, where the Greeks were focused on the pure philosophy. I've never been a renunciant - I think whatever philosophy one ascribes to it must be a suitable tool for dealing with the world as it is.
Buddhism is simply Eastern Stoicism. In Buddhism, start with Zen Buddhism and then venture out into the other streams. One of the huge challenges of Buddhism has been the new age influence, which transforms a pragmatic practice of living in the world into semi-mystical clap trap. Stay away from Alan Watts. Focus on D.T. Suzuki as a starter. Suzuki taught Watts. Watts didn't get it LOL.
(And for sheer life altering entertainment read the Hagakure - which was written as practical advice for Samurai.)

Morning Spacer's What's everyone all about today? Thanks' for the info Paul, I regret not being interested in philosophy when I was younger and first attended collage. Those people I've known who seriously studied it generally did very well in their lives and many went into strong science based fields of employment.
Todays another yard work day but I'm going to try to incorporate some outdoor cooking into the mix.

Good morning Tnman and Azul! who just so happens said their good mornings already, such sweet guys. 
So I didn't plan on playing my video game last night, for one thing, my sound keeps shutting off and I refuse to play with no sound, and I'm always in a grope do I can't log off and in. But my dear dear friend, who I've never seen or heard his voice, but he's been the best friend I could have for 6 years, asked me to play. We had been planning to help him finish an achievement he was very close to getting. He had to win a few games in a particular warfront. 3 games later, he got it! Yay!!! Then we did some randoms, and I got an achievement too I totally forgot I was close to getting! After playing that game for over 6 years, achievements are precious and they tend to be the hardest ones.
I ended the night mistyping as usual on my phones Skype and said "2as fun
"

then I started quoting Lewis Caroll and at first he thoughtold I as all sleepy and mistyping like shot, lol. Then he remembered the poem.
