So the Remastered version of Skyrim is coming out in 2 days. It's free for anybody who owns the Steam version of the game plus all DLC content. Bethesda is milking the shit out of Skyrim for console owners. How bullshit is it that there are PS3 owners who bought Skyrim on Day 1 when it was 100% broken, literally unplayable, for their console. I was one of them. Bethesda's response: "Too bad. We're working on it." To this day, I don't know if it's playable on PS3.

Granted, the PS3's memory situation was utter shit. The PS3 had very little VRAM. A whooping 256 MB (Yes, that's correct.) of VRAM and it had 256 MB of general RAM. Totalling 512 MB (or roughly 1/2 GB) of total RAM, Bethesda tried to make Skyrim work on it.

To put it in perspective, a POTATO of a computer has 1-2 GB of RAM. That's just for general use with low specs. Skyrim on PC cannot even come close to optimized on 1-2 GB of VRAM with the high rez texture pack. We need probably up to 3 GB of VRAM alone.

The PS4 has 8 GB of RAM. That's great. However, the owners of those consoles should get the game free as well. And also the XBOX too. Looking at Nintendo, they shouldn't even be getting Skyrim out of principle. But alas, they are. Nintendo shits on 3rd party developers, and they continue to prove that their glory day domination over the gaming market was just because SEGA sucked so much hairy ballsack. I didn't see Nintendo changing after the Wii, which they proved with the fucking disaster of the WiiU. Now, they have the Nintendo Switch, which is yet again another underpowered gimmick piece of shit that looks cool on store shelves but looks like garbage on home shelves collecting dust.

Regardless, Bethesda is releasing Skyrim again in 2 days. It was originally released on 11/11/11, which was a Friday and one of my favorite days of all time until I realized the game was broken.

All that said, I highly recommend you pick this game up. Despite all of its flaws and despite its deviation away from true role playing elements, I think it's the last true RPG from Bethesda. Fallout 4 has set the groundwork for a more action adventure FPS from here on out. So, play Skyrim. It is no Morrowind, and some would argue that all of its predecessors are better in every way. However, Skyrim does deliver and has some very awesome moments. Also, don't play the main storyline. Side quests are the core and strength of any Bethesda game.

Finally, I am so crossing my fingers for more random encounters. Some of the best moments in video game history is when a random encounter leaves you thinking, "What just happened? Did that really just happen?" Best moments in gaming.

Buy it on PC if you have the hardware. Otherwise, consoles are definitely a fitting choice this time around simply because high rez textures on Skyrim at 60 FPS is a beautiful sight.

Random rant over. Random rant is random. I'm going to sleep. Or at least going to lay down for a bit.

You can't see the truth. You look in a mirror and see a good person. Proof that you are blind to the truth.

It's childish stop it. If you're hurt see a professional. We said what we needed to say move on already. Repetitive bickering is juvenile.

Dr. Chris? Way to go, man! Awesome!

Yeah man, it's a double-edged sword. It's hard to explain. I like to say "I have a doctorate," but it sounds weird to say, "I'm Dr. Chris." It involves a lot of behind-the-scenes politics that went on to push the Bachelors in Science out the door and to make the only option PharmD. A lot of people even confuse it with Ph.D.

On top of that, I have never done a dissertation, which is an important step in receiving a doctorate.

But yes, it's official. When I joined the ranks, the overall average IQ of all doctors dropped significantly. lol

I doubt the IQ part very much, but very cool. I'm happy for you.

I am up early. I had a whopper of a dream. It involved flying across a very recently apocalyptic land, trying to fly my brother to safety. But flying sometimes involved kicking with my feet to go faster, so my most urgent need before I woke up was to find some shoes with straps that would stay on. So much more happened, including before the natural disaster killed off much of the earth, but those parts are fading now.

In all my life, I'd never imagine that I would see through the lies and find the truth.
Care to elaborate?

I own The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on Steam but not any DLC. What do you suggest? I think we discussed this before actually, but I'd love to play this next month when things slow down.

Life is good. Just doing all the normal, everyday crap, but enjoying it. How about you?
Hello beerbg! Good to see you. :)

Yeah, it's pretty much the same here. I'm getting to that part of life where I get shocked to see NFL quarterbacks are many years younger than me, and on the other hand, people who are getting arrested for horrible crimes are much younger than me. I'm also at the point where I miss the "old" normal routines like when pansexual meant wanting to have sex with different varieties of cookware or when Ghostbusters was about humor and not about gender discrepancies. I miss the days when I had to express a misogynistic view to be seen as sexist whereas now just being male makes me sexist. And to be racist, I would have to express racism before being labeled. Now, being a straight white male makes me racist, sexist, transphobic, xenophobic, homophobic, misogynistic, ableist, and a white devil.

Many people will read into this and say, "Chris is basically just saying that we all need to be put in our place." No, not at all. I am saying I wish people weren't offended by everything. We have fucking safe spaces for Christ's sake!

People are pussies today. We need George Carlin and Christopher Hitchens back!!!

I mean as far as our government, who's really in control, how they use division to keep power, letting disasters happen to further their control, religious lies, how they try to distract and program our minds. All of it for greed.

Tiamo, there's actually 3 DLCs. I have been saying two. I'll he honest, all the DLC kind of sucked. However, the DLC all affect the main game is really good ways, like Vampire attacks and the ability to ride dragons.

And I just downloaded 1984 on my Kindle an hour ago... I read it a long time ago but noticed it was free to borrow on my Kindle and I had to take advantage of it.

Ah yes. So should I buy them now? Or just buy the remastered version next week? Also, speaking of reading, I should re-read C Hitchen's book I own, you reminded me of that in your prior post, hehe.

I shouldn't have yummy skittles bag sitting by my desk when I wake up in the morning. Time to go get a proper breakfast! A second breakfast, haha!

I haven't read it. It looks interesting, thanks for the link.

I would just wait. I can't think of any good reason to purchase the DLC now. They are expensive.

I think another option is to wait for the Summer Steam Sale because the game is 5 years old. No need to soend full price on it.

You're in an interesting situation only having the main game. The deal does not favor you. lol

I'll need something to snuggle with during my long cold winter though!

Okay, my biggest priority today, (aside from talking with a special someone later), is to watch the latest episode of The Walking Dead before I accidentally stumble across the answer to last season's cliffhanger! Another huge priority is to cut out 1200 cards for a party, while I watch a less important tv show. Oh, what a day.

I'd love to sit down, and have a beer or coffee with you. I can relate.
