Goodnight Azul - hope your night goes smoothly.

So, I was just wondering - what makes a person a Lit Outcast?

My night was long, but a safe one. Apparently the weather folks over exaggerated their assessment of how bad the storm would be.

In my opinion, a Lit outcast is one who doesn't fit in any of the cliques. To be honest, I do not consider myself to be one. I do consider myself to be a nice guy who gets along with almost anyone, but I don't think that makes me one.

Good morning! I got in almost 22k steps yesterday. Got a lot of multi-tasking done during the walks. Checked out new music, got some pokemon in, caught up with friends and family. Maybe I can do it again today.

And hey... this must be a first, I'm the first one to say good morning! But... back to sleep I go, I just had to take care of Luxie, hehe.

Is anyone dressing up for Halloween - going out with kids or to a costume party? I can't decide what I want to be yet. I really want to be Harley Quinn, but not sure I can pull it off.

Good morning. Just in from a rainy run to start the day. It was most excellent.

That sounds like a good definition Azul. I think there are people in any online forum who are quintessential outsiders. They may participate they may have many friends, but they never quite part of it. I tend to admire those people, their ability to rise above it and yet still be engaged. Like the Bible says, to be in the world but not of the world. That appeals to my sensibilities, especially from my Zen Buddhist approach the world.

Tiamo - i'm a huge fan of waking up and then going back to bed on the weekend. I think that's the perfect way to start the day. We're planning a Halloween get together here, complete with costumes. Knowing my friends it's going to be a mix of Avengers and assorted anime or game characters. One of them will always go steam punk. Another one is always Captain Harlock. Firefly is popular to. I haven't decided what I'm going to wear yet, though I am leaning toward Venetian Masque and formal dress. I suspect there are going to be a few Harley Quinn's. I've been teasing a guy friend of mine that if he's willing to go as black widow I'll buy the costume.

I didn't get to sleep until almost midnight last night. ;)

Halloween is one of the busiest pizza days of the year. So I'll be delivering this year at this point.

Here's the thing about Harley Quinn. Considering a certain super heroine of mine pulled off dressing up as Sweetpea and Alice in Wonderland, I do think she could pull off dressing as Harley.

On a purely prurient level Tiamo would look great as Harley Quinn.

But I understand what she means about maybe not being able to pull it off. I think in order for a costume to work, to pull the character or look off there are certain body types that come into play.

For example I'm average sized, a little stocky (5'9" 185 lbs). There are certain things I just couldn't pull off - any character that is tall and lanky I just couldn't do. Any look that is flowing I can't do. I can wear a Tom Ford suit and look good in it. I cannot wear a Ralph Lauren suit without it looking blocky.

I see your point.

When I think of Harley, I think more of the older version vs the newer movie version. Could T pull off the sexy newer version? Without a doubt.
Could I see her in the original version? I'm not as sure.
It would be great to see her in it though. :)

Morning all, it's a beautiful day here, currently 68 with an expected high of 81. I'll gladly take a bright sunny day after the last few dreary ones here.

Azul...I don't know about the lit outcast thing, that tends to denote some type of pariah status. I'm more of the opinion that there are social butterflies, casual viewers, instigators and non conformists types in any social media.

Tiamo, your really doing some high level step counts, I agree its a perfect way to free your mind and get a lot of thinking done. If you choose to go the HQ costume I think you'll look fantastic.

Paul, as usual you're a deep thinker with good insight.

Yes I agree. As I've been getting ready to go out to brunch here I was thinking about it and you know part of pulling off a character however is owning the character. It's that little spin you put on it that makes it your own. Thinking of it that way I definitely think Tiamo could own it.

LOL I use speech to text regularly. Every now and then it does something which amuses me to no end. On the last part of that phrase "Tiamo could own it" it changed it to "geometry groan".

So Tiamo it looks like Azul and I have decided you should go with Harley Quinn. :D

OK, time for me to head out to brunch with friends. Y'all have a good one and I'll probably see some of you in the afternoon.

Boy I missed a lot. I had to travel back and read to catch up. Not sure I'm an outcast but I've never got in no matter if it's here or the real world.

Saturday didn't end so well for me. I went over to hang out with a friends mom who is 90 and watch some TV. She's a really cool lady so I love going over to hang out when her daughter is going to be out for an extended time and asks me to come hang out with her mom. I was only there about 4 hours and I couldn't get my arm (torn bicep area) to stop hurting. So when the girls came home on a break after working a concert I had to come home.

I tired everything I know to do and nothing worked to stop the pain and burning. So I had to just shut down and sleep. I ended up with extra, extra meds at 3 am when it hurt bad enough to wake me up. And even this morning I only made it thru a shower and breakfast before it started up even with my regular pain meds in me. So it's a very quiet day here so far cause last night was just too much.

Good afternoon everyone! A little bit of fall yard work and a hike on the schedule for this Sunny day in the South.

Stary .. I hope your arm gets better soon. And I've been meaning to tell you thanks for what you do to help the veterans, even though I hear last week was a bear!!

Tiamo ... No doubt you can pull of any costume, but if Harley is done, please share pics!! Enjoy the day!!

I'm up for the day and I have party planning to do, but I appreciate all of you who offered their thoughts on the HQ costume.

Here's my reservations. I can maybe do a cartwheel and a round-off (if I practice some), but I can't do flips. To me she is super energetic and agile, I'm more of a cautious and careful type, lol. Harley has the craziest widest smile, I am a bit more shy. Harley has a very white face. The year I tried to go geisha and paint my face white didn't look too good, lol.

I think I'll do it anyway though. I'll need the wig (easy) and the jacket (expensive for the one I want) and the lil monster shirt and the sequin hotpants and fishnets... inflatable bat prop.... She is going to be this year's most popular costume, but in my small conservative town, I think she'll be an unusual sight.

A week later I have to be an elf. I think I can pull off Arwen a little better.

I don't think in terms of outcasts and cliques. I've always been one to disregard social standings and be nice to all. Maybe even a little bit nicer to the supposed outcasts.

I've always been taught to watch how people treat those around them that can offer no monetary or job enhancement, then you will see the true person. Kudos to you to look out for those on the edges of society.

You'll do great with anything you wear!!

Aw thank you Azul, you're so sweet! You should really dress up, even if it's just some sort of hat. Maybe get a Pikachu sweatshirt and paint your cheeks red, hehe. I bet your tips would increase by 25%! I'd leave an unbelievable tip if I saw someone like that on my front door. I would even grab him (if it was a him) and give him an exuberant hug!!

It's 77 here, but not expected to break into the 80's. You were surprised I wasn't outside the other day, but 80s is too hot for me to hike. I am certainly taking advantage of the warmer weather though. I love Colorado! I tear up just looking at the gorgeous scenery everywhere. Maybe I'll go shoot some photography today in the mountains with the blazingly gold Aspens.

Have fun at brunch! Geometry wouldn't produce groans for me, I love math problems! Lol.

Hike, yay! Share pics if you see any awesome vistas.

hey Hotcpu... I just got to talk to a WWII Merchant Marine & get him lined up for the HF trip on Nov. 1st. How cool is that? It's not often I can find one of those guys out there. I can't wait to meet him & his wife. Very nice people who made up for the crap I got hit with earlier in the week.

I've been behaving today. So far so good no extra bicep pain & no extra meds. Just bored as hell since I think I have the plane full now.

All of you going out hiking sounds like fun to me. Soak in some of that for me please.

Tiamo if I even thought about trying flips or anything I'd be popping tendons. So even just looking sharp in the outfit should be enough. BUT you know these guys will want a picture or 2.

Tnman how did we get the same basic weather? It's been along those lines here all week & been really nice. But then anything under 90 is good.

Hey your Blueness... are people nicer to you on Halloween since you have to deliver more that day???

I like to get out on pretty weather days and just enjoy being outside even if its to warm to walk. Sometimes its just going to a park with a pond or lake other times visiting a museum or event. Some places have lots of activities, around here its mostly weekend events.

The panhandle shares a lot of the same weather patterns with my part of the south east.

Starry - glad to hear you're feeling a little better. Sometimes healing is just a matter of sitting still for long periods of time. I'm nursing a sprained intercostal muscle for the last two weeks or so. A whole lot of sitting still without twisting my torso a few nights of sleeping sitting up.

TN - thanks, LOL, often I get accused of over thinking things and there is some truth to it, but it is my approach to most things - careful contemplation and then deliberate action when action is required.

Brunch was nice - it's always good to get together with friends and if there's good food involved, well, that makes it much better.

I'm home now while the rain is falling outside. I contemplated heading up into the mountains to a lake for a hike (a little rain doesn't bother me), but on impulse I checked the area website and the road is closed due to a downed tree. Today, that was all the excuse I needed to stay home and just enjoy the quiet rainy day, currently watching "The Revenant" on-demand. Life lesson graphically illustrated - do not get between a mama bear and it's cub.

Truth is I typed that out after I was off of work. So I may have not explained myself fully. I could call myself and most folks I know on here any of those titles and they would be accurate. Maybe outcast seems like the wrong term, but there are times people are cast out from social or other situations for not conforming. I'm not saying it happens on Lit, but I'm not saying the opposite either. Just a thought.

On the Harley thing, this shows how dedicated you are to making it real. Some just want to put on the costume and try to look hot whereas you're thinking deeper.

As for the other part, it's what I try to do also. It's easier to be nice than to be mean.

Hey your Blueness... are people nicer to you on Halloween since you have to deliver more that day???
 Laughs at your blueness. :D
To answer your question, I have had great days and sucky days. The biggest pain is that a driver needs to be more aware and lower their speed. Great for safety, sucks for efficiency in getting deliveries out. Depending on the shift, I can clear a good amount of tips easy. Especially if the Seahawks win the day before and their game win deal is on.

Hmmmm.....that could work. ;)

Just checking in. Computer is not recognizing the Wifi, so playing on the tablet until I can figure out what's up.

Starry have you tried Eo's, there may be a few that would help your shoulder pain.

A warm front coming in this week, was liking the cooler temps last week.

azul I would tip good if you delivered in costume. :D

I've tried a huge mix of holistic stuff. Right now they are using the tape on the bicep & the back too. I've got my pain meds & muscle relaxers. I have some EO mixes (helichrysum, hemp & a couple other kids of oils), some script Volatren gel, I start back on acupuncture needles & cupping this week. The tear happened last Thanksgiving. surgery was end of April. The tear is huge but they didn't fix it since they figured it would scar & heal up. So far not happening. Last night pain wise was almost as bad as those first few days post surgery. So I am not sure if they will force me back into a sling... which will make packing even more special to move. Or wait till I tear it further & then more surgery?? I'm not liking any of this so far.

Good morning all.

It looks like a good week of both jobs and getting stuff done for me. So Tiamo had a good question about seasons . Here's a topic to think about:

What do you think about holidays in general and which is your favorite?

Good Morning its Monday so I need an extra strong Cup of Coffee;):D~ Xmas isnt to far away any more;)

Before I worked in retail world Halloween / Day of the Dead was my favorite... But working as a rep really killed holidays for me totally. Christmas was almost 6 months long by the time I replaced 300 store displays on top of my normal monthly duties.

Then they made us work black Friday & every weekend till Christmas in a Walmart. That didn't increase sales any for us, the walmart staff just had an extra set of hands helping customers by throwing us the keys & pulling games for them. I'd take the games to the check out & the customer went to stand in line. Most of it was Nintendo stuff I was pulling while Nintendo was smart and didn't slave labor out their reps like that.
