Ok this maybe should have been posted in the ask Azul thread instead....
but I need some coffee to wake up. Grabs a mug & pulls up a chair.
So this is the project / challenge I need to figure out.

I have a Jack Daniels barrel. Yes a real one that is about 25 years old. I had it shipped in from the distillery for a video shoot and it's been sitting in my entry area ever since we got everything finished. My apartment has no AC & never has so it's dried out enough the bottom rings have dropped down to the floor which means the top ones will move too if tipped. I have a friend who I would love to have this barrel she lives a couple hours away. So it's going to take time to drive it there. My main concern is how to move it outside to hydrate it so it doesn't get harmed. I'm guessing that I will have to figure out how to soak it to start it sucking in the water. I'm figuring that hydrating it will be the only way to make sure it stays intact for moving.

Any ideas on this whole thing???
She's a friend who works with a lot of the Special Forces guys, loves JD & runs a motorcycle shop that caters to my Special Forces guys. I'd like
my barrel to go to someone who will love it as much as I have all these years & she plans on it to go into the shop for display.

btw... I did put in a call up to Lynchburg to the barrel shop. Just waiting on a call back.

I think my device has charged up enough to indulge in a little morning wakeup session. I have a big day today! Some pampering and take my dog to doggy daycare where she gets to hang out with her new friend Katniss. This will be her first time there, so today is a test and interview. I hope she passes.

The easiest way to recondition the barrel is mist spraying with distilled water. Just tell your friends to wrap it as is in a shipping blanket and tie it off. Then they can move it as is and recondition it on site.

I only got in 8800 steps in last night. I can feel it, the extra energy that thought it had somewhere to go is driving me insane. I've been averaging 12-15k steps a day, but always try to do one day off.

My pup is a Golden, she's a 10 month big dog now, 65 pounds!

It's so old that the distillery wasn't selling them to the public back then.
They were sold to wineries to reuse. I got mine by going thru a friend at the distillery & another for shipping it.
It's not even branded with a logo because they didn't do that back then.
I just have my bootleggers chest with the logo on it.

Yeah, when your in the groove on daily fitness walking you get used to burning the extra energy. Then when you have a slow day it makes you feel jittery.

Oreo is doing great, she's actually calmed down some and is more agreeable to a little attention.
Your whiskey barrel is going to need to be tied together in order to hold all of its staves in place. Then once it gets to where its going they need to either rehydrate it and reposition the barrel bands and staves or simply glue it together. A lot of whiskey barrels get shipped to Britain and end up being used with other sprits. We used to buy them, set them in the hot sun to sweat and then catch the remaining whiskey that seeped out. Of course that was a long time ago and teenagers could figure out lots of ways to get into trouble.
