Let's say you can now pick and plan the way your life will end.

How do you want to go? What will the cause of death be? At what age would you decide to do so and why? Who do you want there? Cremation or worm bait?

This is not about suicide. What would be your natural cause of death?

Complete and total cardiac arrest. Do not ever want to be brought back only to be kept alive on a ventilator, and then die anyway. I want to go all the way the first time. As far as the age, I would prefer to go when I'm no longer able to care for myself. I do not ever want to be dependent on anyone.

Seriously I want to go in my sleep after I have lived a long happy life and before I have to depend on someone to take care of me.

Quickly, painlessly, and with dignity. I watch too many folks die slowly and sadly where I work, because they don't realize they can so no to things like CPR, etc.

A good point here.... get yourself a living will and make sure your family knows about it!!

I'd like to go while doing something good, like pushing a little kid out of the path of an oncoming truck.

I don't really want anyone there to see me go. I'd rather their last image of me be of a happy, vibrant woman.

I actually could care less. It's going to come and I think I'd prefer to be surprised. I have no intention of going with dignity. I fully intend to kick, scream, and carry on to the fullest extent of my being. I love life and I'm not ashamed of being extremely childish. I do it all the time, I've rather gotten used to it.

My only stipulation is that I get to go first. The other members of my family must simply wait their turn. Did I mention I'm selfish too?

Has anyone seen the movie Armageddon (sp?) ? Bruce Willis' death seems like the sort I'd want. Quick, painless, you literally go out with a bang, you save mankind, and you're guaranteed a place in history.

Such a toss up for me. I don't want my kids to have to go through the process of handling mom's remains. I certainally don't want them to go before me.

I guess although I too want it painless and quick while I am sleeping, I want the boys to already being living on whatever planet the earthlings decide to take over. That way they will just know I am gone and they will not have to bother with the funeral.

Won't my youngest get a kick out of that thought. He is conpletely convinced there is no life anywhere other than earth. Even Area 51 is a joke to him. Nothing you can say or do will change his mind.
