Rambling Rosie's Retreat

Quite apart from encouraging us to be lazy, it is also inaccurate. A friend quoted that AI had been searching the internet for the last ten years, so it had a huge depth of 'knowledge'... I corrected her to 'a huge depth of inaccuracy'. I can see its benefits, but like anything man invents, it'll be used for nefarious purposes.

That was the first time in my life I've used the word nefarious... I feel grown up.
AI doesn't search the net. It's fed information - mostly stolen too. The recent Ghibli "art" has been awful to see.

And the rise of AI plus the general enshittification of everything plus the article I read and wish I'd saved saying there were talks of plans to dim the sun!!! just makes me wonder when dystopia became so aspirational to people.

I just aced a test!

Granted it wasn't really a test but a questionnaire from the therapy team to assess potential Ptsd.
(to make sure I'm definitely going to receive the correct treatment)

A score over 38 would suggest trauma.
I got 59...
Yay me 🙃🤣
You don't know me but I also have ptsd. It's something you can live with. The right people will understand and be patient with you. Try to trust yourself. You got this.

Well if that's good for you Rose, congratulations

I mean..
I'd obviously prefer not to have had to do it at all but if I want to access the right treatment I suppose a higher score is gonna help with that.

Though my post was more sarcastic than celebratory
It's the field i work in

It may or may not make you feel better, but a number of years ago I was asked to take a test which assessed things like sociability and how you interact with people. The possible score range was between 3 and 21. Somehow, I got 2.5.

And yet I'm basically employed nowadays because I'm meant to have interpersonal skills, rather than because I'm meant to know stuff. This is one of many reasons why I now prefer interviewers who ask me my star sign to those who try to read the tea leaves in a Myers Briggs alphabet soup.

Being serious briefly, this is a way to get you support if you want it, rather than a way to limit or define who you are. And be proud of yourself for having the strength to find it.

Thank you.

And tbh I'd be weirdly impressed with myself if I got an apparently impossible score. But that just might be me!

How do you assess sociability anyway? Surely it's not a "one size fits all" thing. I have different levels of sociability in one day depending on mood, energy levels and who I'm talking to. When my depression flares up I barely talk to anyone.

For what it's worth you definitely don't strike me as being unsociable. Rather you've learned what works for you in terms of when you give your time and who to and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Thank you.

Also depends on how much you've have to drink 🤪🤪

Oh, breaking systems is fun for sure :)

Exactly this. Plus, different ways of appearing sociable work differently. It's easy to hop on Lit for a minute and post a few quick and perky comments here and there. But that isn't actually being sociable.

It can look as if I'm here lots and have all the time in the world. But actually, it's been four minutes. Which is enough to post here, but not enough for a proper conversation. It can be deceptive.

You're still doing better than me.

I'm still an antisocial cunt

Happy 1st of May Rosie and friends!!!!

🍀❤️

And to you too Ana... and everyone ! Feels more like July than May at the moment. Beautiful weather....
Good morning and happy May Day!

Absolutely scorching here today. Got someone coming round shortly to give me a quote to do my garden. My hands just can't hack the mower anymore and my friends kid, who has been doing it for the last few years, is busy with GCSEs.
Then once it's looking nice again I have another friend - who's been going crazy with potting - that has lots of spare plants and she's gonna come help me get some things in the ground
