That's different... water to steam is a phase change, not an expansion..It also expands when heated, with the ultimate expansion being steam...

Me against the world as always ffsI'm with you two
Tbh I like it when anyone gets nerdy. It's one of my favourite things. So two nerds having a nerd battle is great for meMe against the world as always ffs![]()

Me too. As a musician the impacts of temperature are interesting as well.I'm busking
I have no fucking clue. I did art...
In the cold you go flatMe too. As a musician the impacts of temperature are interesting as well.
I’m a brass musician. Anyone care to guess what happens to the pitch of brass instruments in the heavy or cold?
Fair point... touchee .. but the hydrogen bonding in water gives it two unique properties; it's a liquid at room temperature which is remarkable for its molecular weight of 18, and its solid phase is less dense than the liquid phase so ice floats rather than sinks so bodies of water don't freeze solid. All of that is pretty essential for life as we know it Jim... now let's not get started on the anthropic principle... I need a lie down in a darkened room....As is water to ice.
Liquid to solid

In "the heavy"? As in "A pint of heavy please pal?" ("Heavy" being Scottish beer, in case you don't know.)
I imagine it goes gurgle.
Sorry, that was a phone autocorrect s/b “heat “In "the heavy"? As in "A pint of heavy please pal?" ("Heavy" being Scottish beer, in case you don't know.)

Yes, it perplexes some people, they think if the metal contracts in the cold the tubing would get smaller and go sharp. They forget that it’s a tube and when the metal contracts it makes the wall thinner and thus the space in the tube larger. In the cold you go flat
Nerds are hot. Especially when debating something.I'm with you two

Thank you for sharing. Really interesting!Yes, it perplexes some people, they think if the metal contracts in the cold the tubing would get smaller and go sharp. They forget that it’s a tube and when the metal contracts it makes the wall thinner and thus the space in the tube larger.
I read it uses a lot of energy. One of the many reasons I'm not a fan tbhBetween Wiki and AI, I think we've decided willies get bigger due to bonding.
Did you know that for AI to generate an image, it uses an equivalent amount of electricity to recharge your phone?
Quite apart from encouraging us to be lazy, it is also inaccurate. A friend quoted that AI had been searching the internet for the last ten years, so it had a huge depth of 'knowledge'... I corrected her to 'a huge depth of inaccuracy'. I can see its benefits, but like anything man invents, it'll be used for nefarious purposes.I read it uses a lot of energy.
