I may simply have read my watch incorrectly - I didn't mean to rewrite the laws of physics, but if the earth is tilting towards the sun as it does in spring, then my legs could have become longer.Yeah, but it's not the only thing that gets bigger...
My brain hurtsYeah, but it's not the only thing that gets bigger...
Is it a nice walk?I may simply have read my watch incorrectly - I didn't mean to rewrite the laws of physics, but if the earth is tilting towards the sun as it does in spring, then my legs could have become longer.
Git.Hopefully none of us are That old![]()
It is a satisfactory one: some sheeps; a few lovely oaks; a cricket pitch; pylons; a substation; access to a mains sewer; a graveyard... is this what you meant? Several stiles and latched gates. People with dogs. The church. Is it a nice walk?

But not H2O.... the anomalous expansion of water due to hydrogen bonding. Water expands when it freezes....Things expand when they get warmer. Fact
We're through winter now, so things are warming up. Therefore inches are longer than they were in winter.
So you won't notice a difference in your height.
Glad to be of help![]()
*swoons*But not H2O.... the anomalous expansion of water due to hydrogen bonding. Water expands when it freezes....
It also expands when heated, with the ultimate expansion being steam...But not H2O.... the anomalous expansion of water due to hydrogen bonding. Water expands when it freezes....
Me too, when people talk dirty physics*swoons*
That's different... water to steam is a phase change, not an expansion..It also expands when heated, with the ultimate expansion being steam...

I'm with you twoMe too, when people talk dirty physics
As is water to ice. That's different... water to steam is a phase change, not an expansion..
Me against the world as always ffsI'm with you two
Tbh I like it when anyone gets nerdy. It's one of my favourite things. So two nerds having a nerd battle is great for meMe against the world as always ffs![]()

Me too. As a musician the impacts of temperature are interesting as well.I'm busking
I have no fucking clue. I did art...
In the cold you go flatMe too. As a musician the impacts of temperature are interesting as well.
I’m a brass musician. Anyone care to guess what happens to the pitch of brass instruments in the heavy or cold?
Fair point... touchee .. but the hydrogen bonding in water gives it two unique properties; it's a liquid at room temperature which is remarkable for its molecular weight of 18, and its solid phase is less dense than the liquid phase so ice floats rather than sinks so bodies of water don't freeze solid. All of that is pretty essential for life as we know it Jim... now let's not get started on the anthropic principle... I need a lie down in a darkened room....As is water to ice.
Liquid to solid
In "the heavy"? As in "A pint of heavy please pal?" ("Heavy" being Scottish beer, in case you don't know.)Me too. As a musician the impacts of temperature are interesting as well.
