By sheer numbers of troops and inherent intelligence of Russian armament design in the basics of warfare (ground, specifically), Russia is indeed a top 5 military threat in the world today. Also, of course, it's unknown amount of nuclear armaments make it a major player.

But Russia's, Putin's, entire strength is intimidation and bluff, for in anything but a nuclear exchange, the technological armament advantage America holds makes that a no contest.

It'd be completely foolish to allow such a pathetic bully to even come close to drawing everyone else into world war.
