President Joe Biden Retakes Lead from Donald Trump in Latest National 2024 Poll

In my opinion, Biden is a career politician that has made millions by talking out of both sides of his mouth.

...
He's a typical politician that will say, pander and do whatever it takes to get past the next election

And Trump is a crook.

Trump is definitively a crook. No argument there. However that is frankly insignificant next to his megalomania and his disregard for everything outside of his ego. As far as dangers to the country go.

And Biden is a politician in corporate capitalist America.

So essentially then if that is the metric, it sounds like that all politicians are essentially crooks.

Am I understanding you correctly?

I don't understand your statement about being a politician in corporate capitalist America...

But no, not all politicians are crooks. But someone who has spent a long life-time in elected office and become a millionaire, probably is.

We all have different likes, dislikes, impressions and feelings about people. I just don't like Biden. I disagree with his environmental policy. I disagree with his forgiving student loans. I disagree with his cow-towing to the unions. And, frankly, he gives me an Ick.

But... that's totally my opinion and I own it.

Yes you do.

We live in a corporate capitalist society. That's our landscape in America. All politicians essentially come into power with corporate connections, or get them shortly thereafter. There's few exceptions.

I'm curious how you feel about Desantis. He came into office with barely 300k in net worth and now has millions. I'm looking for consistency here. The reality is the thing you described - being worth millions after being in office - is as common as diamonds. Regardless of party.

All of the things you don't like about Biden are policies that more closely align to Jill Stein than Trump.

Decisions have consequences. You know that Stein has as much chance of being elected as you winning the lottery while playing the bagpipes on Tuesday afternoon in a pink and green kilt made from Sneedskin. While rollerskating.

A vote for Jill Stein is one less for Biden and increases Trump's chances in office. You may not like Trump being a crook. Fair do. I'm frankly more worried about him being a narcissistic megalomaniac with the consistency of a flag in a hurricane and having access to all the power of the executive office.

Do you really think Jill Stein is a responsible vote and the best way you can protect the nation?

Got everything wrong except the last part…

President Biden didn’t achieve any significant wealth until he left office in 2017.

At age 75, Joe Biden had a net worth of 2.5 million. 🙄 Currently President Biden has a net worth of 10 million. 🙄

And President Biden has followed through on nearly all of his campaign goals.

Some things have been outside his control, (post pandemic inflation exacerbated by Putin’s war of choice, corrupt right wing majority SCOTUS rulings, a continuing insurrection and war on science, etc) but President Biden is still fighting the good fight for America and Americans.

👍

Also:

President Biden tried to do more on the Climate front, but "something" stopped him…

I don't care for Desantis either. I think he's worse than Trump because he actually believes in the ideology he pushes.

A vote for Stein is not a vote for Trump in my case, because she's not pulling my vote from Biden.

I know she won't be elected and I don't agree with her policy. My point is to make some small protest against the two choices I've been given.

Math is math. A vote for someone else does not help Biden and in turn helps Trump.

How effective will your protest be?

Will the personal satisfaction be worth the harm Trump will inflict on the country?

Well, before you cast your protest vote consider this: this election will not be about democratic vs republican values, but about democracy vs authoritarian regimes. That sound a bit histrionic but look at what trump has done, is doing and is telling us what he will do if he somehow gets elected.

ZOMG!

President Joe Biden has retaken the lead against his presumptuous 2024 Republican challenger Donald Trump in a new survey.

A Morning Consult Poll released Tuesday showed that Biden with a narrow 43 to 42 percent lead over Trump in a hypothetical 2024 race, with 11 percent of respondents stating they would vote for "someone else" and 5 percent still undecided.

Someone check on boomer. 😳
I’m no trumper but anyone who backs the creature we call Joe Biden is beyond delusional!! They all work for the same ghouls. Boiling frogs we are. What we accept for a political reality is utter madness. 😂

^
Definitely a “trumper”

*nods*
That’s how retarded most people are these days. Just listen to any recent words from biden. He’s clueless if he’s even real at this point. Trump is a Jesuit billionaire. I’m not into billionaires and certainly not into Jesuits. Read their history. 🤤

Dumb post is dumb.

You say Jesuit more often in a week than is posted here in a year.

It's you who needs to learn the words you use.

The polls mean virtually nothing in a presidential election since the president is not elected by popular vote. One point or 6 points in a poll is mostly irrelevant except for political hype for the salivating propagandist news casters.

Most of them are. You don't come into Washington DC as a non-millionaire, and serve in the senate or house for 40 years and leave as a multi-millionaire if you aren't. Senators and members of the house of representatives make $174,000 a year.

Knowledge is power. Get some.
Words have meaning. Learn them.

The Society of Jesus (Latin: Societas Iesu; abbreviation: SJ), also known as the Jesuit Order or the Jesuits (/ˈdʒɛʒu.ɪts, ˈdʒɛz(j)u, ˈdʒɛs-/; Latin: Iesuitae), is a religious order of clerics regular of pontifical right for men in the Catholic Church headquartered in Rome.

What part of this makes trump a Jesuit?

You can call it a protest, and it may make you feel better. The practical reality is under the current rules in US presidential elections there is no possibility of a 'protest vote'. If you are not voting in a so-called 'battleground state', your vote is essentially meaningless and holds no value as a protest.

If you are voting in a battleground state, a vote for someone other than the two major candidates is a default vote for the eventual winner of that state.

This myth of the protest vote is one of the most pernicious ideas in American politics, along with the idea that we have a two party system because most people only vote for candidates from the two mainstream parties.

Under the first past the post, winner take all style of elections, there can only ever be two effective parties. The only way to change that is to change the rules, which is unlikely as would not be to the benefit of those who currently make the rules.

I agree that Johnny is a moron.

TrailerTrash aka KiotiUgly is bad at math.

At $174,000 dollars per year, a Senator or Representative would earn about $7 MILLION over 40 years.

The fact that Senators and Representatives can add about another 20,000 per year from side jobs, means another $800,000 over forty years.

Being Vice President for 8 years bumps it up by about another 400,000.

All totaled: Somewhere over $8 MILLION in income.

Hope that ^ helps.

In ordinary times I’d support this. But trump is telling us he’d move the US to a basically authoritarian regime and put democracy at serious risk.

And you will have thrown away your vote, in my view. That’s what protest votes historically are, from Ross Perot to Ralph Nader to whoever.
Ross Perot was the only independent/third party candidate who's had a chance in recent history. He tanked his own candidacy with his choice of Vice President. That guy gave one TV interview and it was all over for both of them.

I fully expect the so-called "lead" to bounce back and forth between the two all the way until election day, unless some seismic event tips the scales one way or the other.

See, here's the thing. Even if some third party candidate managed to defy the forces of the world and gravity and 'win' the office, what would happen?

Most likely nothing at all. No Cabinet or Judicial appointments confirmed, no bills passed regarding their position or agenda. Virtually every Veto over ridden.

Independents will never win because they will never appease enough high-powered cronies.

People who vote independent only do so to feel good about themselves while it hurts the country.
