Planned Parenthood Prez: Fund Planned Parenthood to stop abortion

You are welcome. PP was founded in order to further racist, eugenic ideals (aborting blacks who Sanger deemed unfit to reproduce) so it seems fitting for this thread.

PP does a miniscule amount of what is needed for women's health. What they do is next to nothing.

Let's all grow some balls and simply say, "I believe the federal government should provide funds for abortions at PP" instead of all the tap dancing folks like you do. Your tap dancing does not work, the other team sees through your bullshit. They are winning as a result, watch that de-funding happens because folks like you are cowards.

I will say it outright: I am pro choice, and I think PP should continue to be funded in order to provide abortion services.

If they worked to make it legal, they could provide more service for less money. They would have to do 180° and admit that that abortion is really their only raison de etre.

All that convoluted accounting, all the window dressing services and the expensive PR flacks cut into their budget a lot.

The bullshit is what will have done them in, if (unlikely) that happens. At one time, they were claiming that they were the only option for poor women to get mammography done until someone pointed out that they don't do any mammography.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) — Insurance companies in Oregon would be required to cover abortions and other reproductive services at no cost to the patient regardless of income, citizenship status or gender identity under a measure approved Wednesday by lawmakers.

Oregon already has some of the most liberal abortion laws in the U.S., leaving out otherwise common requirements for waiting periods or spending limits on taxpayer funds.

...

[and here's the best part, the real kicker]

In some states such as New York, abortions are cost-free if they're deemed medically necessary. The Oregon bill is unique, however, in that patients would have access to the procedure for virtually any reason, at any time, including sex-selective and late-term abortions.

That would only be so if it were federal and also allowed states to restrict and not fund abortions.

Never fails that some fucking liberal has to come in and demand that DC take over everything. The people voted in Trump and he promised to take DC out of our lives. What's so hard to understand about deomcracy?

None of that makes the Oregon bill a victory for states rights.

Ya think?

I'm well aware of what an ectopic pregnancy is.. I'm also fully aware of the risk, expense and the changes to a woman's body. So don't even think you can sit on your high horse and attempt to lecture me.

I've been there..

You have a funny way of showing it. Especially given comments like:

Because it isn't about "women's health", as you so quaintly put it, it's about abortion, pure and simple. Quit trying to sugar coat that fact.

That's you dude. Your words. You are now trying to tell me that you recognize that abortion is part of women's healthcare when you said that it's not?

As yet, I haven't heard of anyone actually stopping you from doing so. Is it a little inconvenient? Sure. But then so are a lot of other things that serve a small percentage of the population. Hell I have to go 30 miles to the DMV to get my drivers license renewed because the state determined that having a DMV office in the burg I live near is not economically viable.

So you want to compare your hour's drive to a half day drive, a three day waiting period, a mandatory unnecessary pre-procedure and the fact that doctors are forced to lie to women for abortions? Really? Do you really want to measure your "inconvenience" at having to go to the DMV with the bullshit hoops that women have to go through to obtain an abortion? Seriously?

By all means, please do. I thank you for trivializing women's healthcare. One you apparently have so much concern about and for.

PPH published their statistics on actual abortions performed and it works out to something like less than 1% of the total population. Doesn't make good business sense to maintain a service that will only serve a very small number of clients in a given area. So it ends up being much like your example in a previous post about northern Nevada. Have you ever been to the Elko, Winnemucca area? There's a lot of fucking NOTHING up there. So it doesn't surprise me at all that residents wanting specific medical services have to go to Reno or Boise to get them.

One out of three women will seek an abortion in their lifetime. That's just reality. You can say 1% but apparently you don't realize that you're talking a sizable chunk of 3.2 million women. That's a chunk. But please keep trying to tell me how much you care about women, women's healthcare and abortion access when you don't realize simple statistical realities. Especially in a large population.

Here's another reality for you. You say that you want government subsidies for your specific service? Guess what? With government money you get government regulations and rules.

That's just the way it is.

So you want the government to make bullshit unnecessary and medically contraindicated regulations? You want legislators between you and your doctors? If they made sense it would be one thing. But they don't. They are for one purpose and one purpose only: to decrease access to abortion in efforts to stop abortion.

That's it. To say otherwise is intellectually dishonest and frankly stupid.

I know exactly what the Hyde Amendment AND Title X are all about. So?

You're not acting like it.

  1. I never said nor implied that abortion was murder
  2. I'm not being hysterical about any of it.. You on the other hand, sure seem to be.
  3. The world is a fucked up place and bad shit happens every day..

Well you're the one that wants to "not sugarcoat" it. You're the one that told me to fuck off and find a pussy hat. You're also the one that can't seem to be consistent from post to post.

Or at least before this post.

You seem to have missed the point when I said that those other things weren't pertinent to the discussion at hand. Hell, I didn't even specifically say that Congress should withdraw funding for PPH. You implied that I did.

Oh the hell they aren't. Everyone is after a cash cow, so they go after the goldfish instead of the shark? Truly? Apparently we all fell off the turnip truck yesterday.

Again, intellectually dishonest. At best.

Again you are implying that I said that... I didn't

Then quit acting like it. Spade is a spade is a spade. Don't want to be treated like a spade then quite speaking, looking and acting like a spade. Easy as.

So is getting a vasectomy for men. But my insurance at the time didn't cover THAT. It was considered "elective surgery".

And in every state of the nation it is cheaper and easier to access. Additionally, there isn't a single state legislature that has said that insurance cannot cover a vasectomy. I personally feel that vasectomy should be covered. Also, one question, can you please find a man that has suffered death or a major health problem from not having access to a vasectomy?

I'm aware of it.. Kind of the way it goes isn't it?

Again, then act like it.

You need a new reply. That one is getting really tired.

You may have a point. However I only feel like putting in so much effort. Maybe I'll develop a handful of simple responses that accurately reflect my disdain yet still maintain minimal effort.

So you refuse to answer the question. No white woman ever does.

I don't know if PPH does anything with fibroids. I don't have them so it's not something on my radar. Sucks that you do - sincerely. I understand they are a pain. My advice would be to call PPH and see what they say. You just may be surprised.

Now perhaps you can pull in your black girl chip on shoulder? :)

Sigh. Every post you prove just how much of an idiot you are.

No they don't do mammography. They do the manual exams that are necessary in order to get a referral to an imaging clinic. Without that referral, no mammogram. This isn't rocket science.

Laboratories of democracy. Good for them.

I am a grown woman, how fucking dare you. Whites like you who infantalize a 40-something African American into a "boy" or a "girl" sicken me.

What year is this, 1940?

Fuck you.

It's very telling that throughout the thread you refer to "women's health" yet when it comes to me I am a "girl". Telling and typical. Shows who you care about and what you think about those who fall outside of what you consider to be a woman.

Again please do fuck off.

Sojourner is still TRUTH. You white women still haven't changed.

My apologies. Didn't mean it that way. Whatever. I refer to myself as a girl and don't find it insulting or demeaning. Your choice entirely.

You want to be angry.

Be angry.

Have a good time doing so.

You've just proven my point though.

^^ screams foul when democracy doesn't go her way ^^

LOL

I put that in there just for you. Good to see you're paying attention.

Especially since you cried foul about it making excuses for how their duly elected officials enacted a policy.

Glad to see you didn't disappoint. :D

I'd never miss a chance to point out your never ending hypocrisy.

Especially since you cried foul about it making excuses for how their duly elected officials enacted a policy.

100% fabricated bullshit....

Common, you can do better than just making random shit up.

Oh you mean the legislature members weren't duly elected as representatives for the people?

I realise that you haven't nationalised health service but you do have indigent care.

If your indigent care does not cover abortions, how do the poor get them? Are they not more prevelant amongst the poor?

Oh you mean the legislature members weren't duly elected as representatives for the people?

What the fuck are you talking about? Your lie that you made up earlier??

Especially since you cried foul about it making excuses for how their duly elected officials enacted a policy.

You realize you were making a totally false statement when you posted this ^^ right??

Of course they are. I never suggested they weren't.
