(that means: for those of you who can be arsed, right?)

in threads dedicated to showing 'bits', i.e the tits/balls/butt threads, it isn't a great idea to quote the pics in your replies.

why? because if the person whose pics they are then removes their images, for whatever reason, they can still be visible through your quoted posts. the images belong to the people who posted them and, while it's great you like them enough to want to quote them to comment, it then falls to the OP to ask individuals if they'll remove the link from their quotes.

so some of you might be happy to have your pics quoted - great!
but it might just be a cool idea to ask people before quoting others'.

mostly, it annoys me when people quote attached pics. if they quote linked pics...that usually means (to me) that they are existing somewhere else, and I don't care if they get posted again.

but this is an excellent point to bring up for consideration.

While I agree. And I don't quote personal pictures. Once you put them online, they're no longer yours. They are now everyone's pictures.

they still belong to the individual who took the picture, but placing them in the public domain does leave them open to being 'clicked and used'. as its label suggests, it's a matter of etiquette.

It's just a risk you take when you post anything personal. Most people are considerate about it and won't quote pictures. But there are some that will and some who right click and save your pictures. Long ago I had a picture thread. I'm sure islandman still has all my pictures saved.

Dear Noob,

The way to post a pic that won't matter is to post only a link to a lit attachment. When you delete the attachment, the pic disappears from your original post and all quoted posts at the same time.

There is no effective way to stop those people who right-click and repost your picture as their own attachment (which I highly recommend for the tits/butt but not the balls thread(s)).
