First we were told to leave within 1/2 hour.
Ten mins later, the firies came up to assess the southern boundary (closest to the fire) and told us it was ok to stay.
Then my no1son came up to collect his little brother and take him to his place, leaving me here.
Then the police came up and told me they were re-issueing an evac, telling me to pack and leave within the hour.
Then the firies came back from the boundary and rescinded the evacuation, saying I was ok to stay.
Then the wind changed, and I decided to leave as there were embers coming in.
As I drove down to the junction with the main road, the police were coming the other way and stopped to tell me we were under immediate evac and did I know how many more people were in my road.
For a few hours, all us residents sat down at one of the neighbours big dams in our cars and watched the firies attack the front as it came into the end of my street. The guy who owns that place lost 2 sheds full of hay.
Then, when everything was back under control, those of us living on the north side of the road were allowed back. And a coule of hours later, everyone else was let back in.

For now, we are under no threat level, but I spoke to the firies earlier and they told me they are still fighting hotspots and if the wind doesn't change, we'll all be ok.

Oh, and by 'opening all the gates' it means all the animals can move freely around the property from paddock to paddock - not that they can leave the property itself.

I give blood regularly. It's kept for my personal use, and if I don't need it, it goes into the supply.
If it came to the point where I needed blood, I have a notation on my record that I am to be given artificial bloods only.
I don't want to get any other fuckers blood, black or otherwise.
