I wondered today if the refugee smugglers could make a round trip and take desperate UK citizens over to France
Going to need to be paid in gold as the pound is gonna be a grubby worthless rag

Unlikely. France under Macron is a fucked-up mess and any Brits living in France have to deal with ridiculously petty regulations (so do the French).

Try to renovate a derelict cottage in France. Without the goodwill of the local Mayor, you will spend years just getting permission to fix the holes in the roof. Even if you do eventually succeed, your taxes will go through the roof because you now live in a much improved dwelling.

Sunday grub..where I'm from it's Sunday dinner served at noon or more likely 2pm when the social clubs closed, others may say Sunday lunch.
Anyway, as I'm flying solo for a week or 2 I'm making chips, beans and a fried egg today.

To cut a long question short....any roast lamb with mint, Yorkshire pudding, real gravy (not jus) or roasties floating around today?

You had better head to your local carvery or down to M&S for one of their ready meals

Back on the day I would be starting prep now for a full on roast beef sweet potatoes mash roast spuds carrot and sweed mash gravy with all the meet juice all the yorkshire puds. The kind of dinner that would nail you to the sofa for several hours of bliss

As close as I'll get to that is the Toby Carvery and I may just go there tomorrow. It will be a nice change from fish and chips by the sea.
Going back to the subject of flirting, you all missed out on my blackberry cheesecake. OMG it was so good. I forgot to mention Delia Smiths toffee sauce.

I don't normally like cheesecake (or most sweet stuff) but that looks absolutely delicious.

Oooooh my word. Beef was expensive when I was growing up and we only had roast beef (or lamb) on a special occasion when someone was visiting.

My Mam made the most delicious roast pork with crunchy crackling, roast potatoes, a selection of vegetables and apple sauce and proper gravy. It was truly divine.

Are you cooking today?

Every Sunday my mum cooked a roast. We do occasionally but we much prefer something that means no prolonged slaving in the kitchen.

M&S chicken Provençal for us today with rice and broccoli

So did my mum. She fed us and looked after all of us so well 🥰

I often feel horrible guilt when my kids are mooching around on a Sunday at lunchtime and I haven’t even thought about what we are going to have. My Mum planned every single meal in advance,

Enjoy your chicken Provençal 😘
