Never sure how to pick a category

Is this true? I know nothing about T/I and that sounds 180 degrees apart from what I would have guessed.

It's somewhat true. I have a lot of experience with incest stories; almost half my 64 stories are incest stories.

In the case of one mother-son incest story I received criticism of a scene where mom touched her anus. The reader apparently thought mom-son sex was totally cool but "no self respecting mother would do that (touching her anus)." Romance plays a big role in the appeal for many. Many readers like the idea of a "love that cannot be denied." They like the taboo, but they don't want to be troubled by other kinks.

Some other situations where I've received critical comments in mom-son stories:

1. Where mom had sex with someone other than her son. "She's just a whore."
2. Where the son's friend ogled mom.
3. Where mom engages in exhibitionism in public. She's only supposed to get hot and naked for son, not for anyone else.

There's an interesting Oedipal/jealousy thing at work with these stories. Men read them with the fantasy that they want Mom all to themselves and they want her to be virtuous (other than the fact that she's lusting after her own son).

This isn't true for everyone. As I said, I've received some comments like this but not too many, so I can't say this is the majority point of view.

I tried to dig in my post count, but it doesn't go past April. To sum it up; write towards the catagory you want. Some of them aren't that cut and dry, even in specific ones, can be broad within them. At least have a focus in the story, so there's no added confusion. It doesn't help when a story could be in multiple catagories and there doesn't seem to be a main focus or direction.

For example a story in Anal about a couple, say they like having her gang bangs, too. All this shit going on, you gotta spin it back to anal, like all the participants are only allowed to cum in her ass. She likes to keep a buttplug in all day for sex nights with her man, or because he likes to get quickies in when and where ever(which could be a public play fetish), and it's easier also, so she's not exactly left high and dry, and she can use it to hold his cum in. Now you have this world built, not one dimensional story, where the aim is obviously anal, despite everything else going on.

I feel like this story would just be titled "ANAL" in all caps and nothing else.

And I'd read it.

H O L E S

Actually for a while one of the top-rated stories in Anal was a series that had virtually no sex and only two or three butt-stuff scenes spread across 85000 words in forty chapters or so. It's since been taken down and republished as a single piece in Romance.
