Category question (ah! the classics)

I’ve got a 20,000 word story for Winter Holidays written very early and currently in editing. The premise is the FMC returning early to college from the holidays with an anal gang bang planned for New Years Eve. She’s a little out of practice and so opportunistically tries to have anal with a number of people along the way.

So Anal, right?

Well maybe. But the center of the story is the FMC’s relationship with another woman and this having problems due to a lack of communication, and muddled ideas about what they both want. To some extent (and only some extent), the FMC’s other activities are her compensating for this, or engaging in displacement activity. There is a brief lesbian sex scene in the middle.

There are also themes of insecurity and past difficulties and a whole load of relationship melodrama. I’m not sure how these aspects would go over with the butt stuff crowd.

So - given the length of the story (which may well increase by 1 - 2,000 words in editing) - my other option is Novels & Novellas. There is also Group Sex, but I’ve never quite worked that category out. Seems more like swingers’ parties.

Any thoughts?

Seriously, I'd do Anal or Group. Probably the first. Ask yourself which group of readers have their hands down their trousers just from reading your summary.

My one foray into the category was actually similar to what you've described (thematically, I mean). It got more views and favorites than I expected, but I generally don't have comments or voting enabled so I don't know if the readers there wanted to complain about the non-butt moments of the story.
I think it's probably still the most appropriate category for your story on this site, for whatever that's worth.

There are few readers who'd be significantly squeaked by an FF scene in an otherwise straight story. Many would see it as an added bonus.

With that in mind, I agree with what the others said: add some butt stuff and put it in Anal.

From your precis, I'd say Anal. Seems like the major erotic theme, even if there's a lesbian emotional element. Presumably the gang bang is male oriented - can't see that going over terribly well in lesbian, can you?

but I'd suggest that you do what I did and post a warning notice at the top of the story alerting readers to the possible squickiness. That's what I did and I've had no complaints. Good comments, good score. Being in mature, not a huge audience, but for the category, decent.
