I was too busy being an orchestra geek to keep school interesting lol.

Between 6-8 hours of rehearsal a week and private lessons..

you pick whats on the list and get it read quick

Then why would you pick the ones that are about 500 pages long? I spent at least that much time on sports growing up and still had time =P.

To be fair they seem to have removed the worst things about the sequels (Bloom and Knightley) and they've kept Geoffrey Rush, so it could end up being a bit of mindless fun.

I can't believe I've entered this thread to defend the POTC films in all honesty. I've got good taste in films... no really I do!

Oh indeed. No disputing that. However the impression I've given of myself is somewhat poor given that I was fighting the corner of them films.

So... PotC after the first = meh.

I never enjoyed Harry Potter, but then I was way above the Harry Potter level of reading when the first book came out and the terrible grammar put me off. I was reading Wheel of Time in the 6th grade and The Lord of the Rings before kindergarten, so when Harry Potter came out it didn't interest me in the least.

I would also say I have a fairly good taste in movies despite most of the movies I really enjoy not being Oscar winners. But that's mostly because the Oscars are pretty stupid.

Well, talked with a girl a bunch, thought it was going fairly well, she had a lot of the same interests as me: sci-fi, travel, cooking, things like that. We were going to meet and she had to cancel because something sudden came up, and so I let her know what my schedule was for the next week so we could meet.

And then I get a message that says we don't have a similar enough lifestyle, apparently.

Edit: Is it bad that I was sure there should be a *sigh, not this again* subtext in front of that?

I would say yes, but I'm not sure how that would go. Anyway, it confused me, as it has in the past, but I'll never understand everyone, so I'll go on and find someone else. To me it's just odd that you wouldn't at least meet someone you share a lot in common with, even if you disagree on a few things, although I never saw anything like that in our conversation.

Edit: It's not like I'm ever anything but friendly, and I always try to talk like I normally do, includng sometimes making jokes, but never anything mean.

Honey, you have to realize that about 80% of verbal communication isn't based on what is said but how it's said, body language etc. Using the wrong words while saying the right things can completely put us off. So even if you agree on loads of things, doesn't mean it seems right for her.

Well, it wasn't verbal communication, it was just text. Edit: And I know about the way visual and verbal communication work together, which is why I will give someone a shot in person rather than just a little phone talk or some text. People can be different in person.

I actually have an ex who was very different in person compared to when we wrote. Writing with him was horrible, I really disliked him at those times

I don't think I'm ever like that (although who knows, I could be to some people) but yeah, that's why I always try to give someone a shot in person. Seems like most people don't feel the same way, though
