She's just jealoust that I'm not paying attention to her right now. Despite me having no obligation in any way to do so and watching three hours of documentaries just a half hour ago.

I see we moved onto movies/books!

So... PotC after the first = meh.

I never enjoyed Harry Potter, but then I was way above the Harry Potter level of reading when the first book came out and the terrible grammar put me off. I was reading Wheel of Time in the 6th grade and The Lord of the Rings before kindergarten, so when Harry Potter came out it didn't interest me in the least.

I would also say I have a fairly good taste in movies despite most of the movies I really enjoy not being Oscar winners. But that's mostly because the Oscars are pretty stupid.

The Oscars make my head hurt...seriously they don't really do much except give people a reason to dress up and walk a red carpet.. ugg

If you wanted to walk a red carpet just buy one ... then you can walk it all the time.
I'll add myself to the category of nerd! And proud of it!

Well Hello Dr :) Welcome to the awesome club

So over the past year I've become a major fan of Dr. Who. I enjoyed David ******t's Doctor, and I've been enjoying Matt Smith's Doctor as well. Now, after the mid-season finale (episode seven of season six of the new series) and having my mind blown, I just rewatched the episode The Doctor's Wife.

I had my mind blown... again. And again.

It's strangely incredible just how many plot threads stretched through this half season, and how several of those were tied with threads from the last season as well. It's like a giant web of continuous story, which, as a fan of shows like Babylon 5, just draws me in deeper.

I do not watch Dr Who, but I have heard a lot of people raving about it. Your review may just prod me to watch it. Are the series available on DVD?

Everything up to the season that just ran is available on DVD right now, yeah. David ******t is generall recognized as the best of the new Doctors (although I tend to enjoy Matt Smith a little more), but the new series starts with Christopher Eccleston back in 2005, which is a good place to start. Good episodes to start from in the opinion of Neil Gaiman:

"BLINK

THE GIRL IN THE FIREPLACE

DALEK

THE EMPTY CHILD/ THE DOCTOR DANCES

HUMAN NATURE/THE FAMILY OF BLOOD

Classic Episodes like Douglas Adams' CITY OF DEATH.

Although you might just want to start with THE ELEVENTH HOUR and come forward. Or start with ROSE and come forward. (I don't think I'd recommend starting with THE UNEARTHLY CHILD and coming forward, but it more or less worked for me..)"

Also, Neil Gaiman's episode "The Doctor's Wife" from the new season is a great introduction to the series as it stands right now. However, since it's a newer episode, it's not available on DVD just yet.

I'm way obsessed with Farscape. I'm also trying to learn how to speak Al Bhed (Final Fantasy X and X-2) as a second language. I'm also a gaming master.

I wish I could find a girl that appreciated my geekiness. -_-

Maybe the oldest nerd on the block.

My first computer was a TRS-80 from RadioShack / Tandy. 256 K - but I doubled that bad boy to a 512 ... SMOKIN' !!! (by the way kids, thats a K, not a M or G)

I religiously watched Dr. Who when it was only on PBS, and in B&W. Ms. Pond is definitely my favorite modern companion, but personal favorites from the past would be Sarah Jane Smith and Ace.

All of the Star Trek series, then on to the Gates... what's next?

Amine fan from way back, although I appreciate the more modern take on characters.

Cheers
