I had an engineering diagram of Enterprise 1701-D, and spent countless hours in discussions with some engineering friends making improvements in said design.

We managed to find a way to include a massive ion cannon..

I DREW a diagram of the 1701 (refit). And made a 3d model of a version I'd *like* to see. It includes turrets. ;-)

If nerds were unaccepting of other people, then they wouldn't be nerds. They would be really quirky "jocks" and "cheerleaders".....not that jocks and cheerleaders are all bad, but...you get what I'm saying, right?

Oh I get it. I am just one of those people who has never fit in with my surroundings. In sports I was the bookish athlete. In class I was the smart jock. At work I'm the guy who doesn't hunt like all the other guys. I guess an example of why I say I'm a walking contradiction is I use to ride a harley, rarely drank, didn't smoke, and tried not to curse. I also had a small fluffy dog and many people never knew what to make of me. I know who I am, but it is always strange when people try to put you in one category or another, and how they react when you don't fit.

I get hacked when whatever flies as if it were in an atmosphere. I mean, come ON!
The sound is also a major irk.

Every now and again, I dust off 2001: A Space Odessy, just so I can see a dircetor and writer who know what the hell their doing...

God, yes! When you can make space travel exciting with no sound and slow-moving ships, then you're definitely doing something right. Pity Hyams didn't take that into account for the sequel, but I still like it. :)
