What's the most words you've (whoever wants to answer this) written a day? What's the most you feel you could write EVERY day?

Most I've ever written in one day was right at 10,000 words. Doubt I could do it again.

18,500+ in one day. I doubt I'll ever have the time and inclination to do that again. Usually I'm about 2,000-5,000 words a day when I'm slamming.

oops, wrong thread for this

Booyah, and I've done something even stupider than the ex-boyfriend...

I've signed up my school that I teach at. Students have been coming up to me expressing desire to write. And I'm like, "Well, there's this entire month...."

And now the school appointed me NaNoWriMo coordinator. It's going to be Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.

Oh that's fantastic! I wish my creative writing class in high school did that when I was in school. Maybe I would have showed up.

Why is that stupid? It's going to be a lot more extra work for you, but... oh. Crap. :rose:

BUT you've lit the creative fire in the kidlets, and that's something. :)

Not to imply at all that I *did* my ex-boyfriend because that totally would have been stupid.

Just keeping record things for my 2nd year at NaNoWriMo:
1) Planning on completeing all 50,000 words.
2) Challenged by ex-boyfriend
3) coordinating my 7-9th grade students in their own little pursuit.
4) Forced to write at PG instead of PG-13/R because the kids always want to know what I'm up to.

And ari: I was lucky enough to have a creative writing class in high school...(also had a science fiction and a propaganda elective). Believe me when I say it has made all the difference. Granted I was always a nerd/geek. Probably why I'm teaching special ed now.

NaNo Chat: Success and Characters

I just got this message. It sounds like it would be very helpful.

Free Chat for Writers: NaNoWriMo - Success - Characters

My friend Nikki (on my friend's list) is a life coach for writers. I never understood why a writer should have a life coach until I met her. She has a way of finding an extra hour or two to write in everyone's day. Her ability to help writers learn to meet deadlines is awesome. Not that this is a new or magic technique. Isn't this basically what universities do? Train people to succeed? But then - if they did such a great job, why are there so many success coaches helping big CEOs? Nikki is offering tips to help people meet their NaNoWriMo 50 000 word limit.

Anyway, she is going to be at the chat tonight www.inspiredauthor.com. Just click the chat button on the homepage and you'll go to the room. It is free and you do not need to register. Just enter a username and you are there. The Chat is at 7 Eastern. I think that is about 4 California time, and about midnight or 12:30 in England.

Next week's chat is going to be from a published writer who also helps host a writer's conference.

November 11's chat will host the 'infamous' author of the Mollycoddle experiment. She started a blog to flesh out her character, and it grew into a cult following who objected violently when they learned that Molly was not real. However, the experiment was a resounding success.
