Well, I haven't hit a block, but life has been so hectic that I haven't had the usual writing time to start charging in full force!

Well, since you were complaining earlier and all -
I can't help but keep procrastinating! I haven't even written 1,000 words today and I am beginning to get dissapointed in myself here. I finally hit a little over 5000 - hoping for more to come soon. Maybe I need caffeine. Possibly a shower. I probably smell.

Well then that's good, I can no longer feel guilty about posting constantly here as well as on another board and talking to people online and looking at porn. Nope, no guilt at all. :)

NaNo chat going on right now here: http://www.inspiredauthor.com/

The chat's being hosted by a professional writer's coach, and she's talking about how to achieve difficult goals in writing and preventing writing slumps before they start. Don't miss it.

Okay, I finally got the juices flowing and pumped out quite more than I thought I would. I'm currently up to 6,210 and I am now going to shower, clean up and a bit and come back to write more.

:D

Congrats on your successful beginnings all. I'm hoping that my muse wakes up and makes this daily writing a little less of a grind. I'm very far behind in daily word count but, I do try for a couple of hours a day. Looking at a blank word doc is a little disheartening, though. Wish me luck!

I took a creative writing class in 10th and 11th grade. The best advice my teacher gave me was that yes, a blank sheet of paper (or a blank Word doc in your and most of our cases with this challenge) is very intimidating. So, to overcome this, get a great passage of a book or a quote (or if you're using paper, doodle a little) just so it isn't a blank sheet staring you in the face, at least they're something there to keep your new words company as they start to come out.

It may sound real cheesy, I thought so at first, but surprisingly it works. Hope that helps a bit.

Well, it is the end of day 3 and i have 6,918. Not too shabby for someone who procrastinated all damn day.

Damn straight, nothing wrong with that...I've been on cold medication all day...so I haven't got what I was hoping done.
