Do you think they are valid? Total crock of shit?

Mine is freakishly true, and explains a lot about my social life :(

What do you all think?

I'm more of a Mike Myers personality type O-negative...

;) ;)

I wish I had known what I was when I was younger, it would've helped immensely...and they do test the kids now as they enter into highschool (which was middle school when I was young); I think that's especially true when one is among the rarer types who are already painfully aware they're freaks.

I've read that its use is becoming widespread (especially in Japan and the US) in not only business, but law with attorneys using it to stack juries.

I think they're valid but take the long test, not the short one if you can. I think I'm an INTJ but my I/E score is about even and comes up E sometimes.

My wife and I had to do the MB for premarital counseling :)

I did the long one many years back in the army, then again with the VA when I got out and I came up INTJ the first time INTP the last time. Apparently scoring 78% on team introvert is a cause for concern though....they scurrd I'm crazy  I like it that way.

I think it can lead to disaster for the introvert and others if he/she spends nearly all their time cycling inside their own noggins. That said, folks who insist the introvert just needs to be out and about to overcome their "shyness" can be irksome, treating introversion (which isn't shyness) as if it's something broken in need of being fixed.

There's a school of thought that says that any degree if introvertedness is dysfunctional. The argument is that it serves no real purpose and is a hindrance to getting one's needs met in life.

Introversion is useful when youre isolated from people due to place, time, etc. And I estimate that fully 98% of people are bland, inane, incoherent, and inarticulate. A dog is better company.

That sounds shortsighted to me.

I think the recent studies on intro/extro-version and hyper sensory perception very interesting; the biological motivation makes intuitive sense.

One day, God willing, muzzling chit-chatters will be legal and recognized as the public service it is.

No wonder I like about 90% of the stuff you say.

Interesting...sounds like something a socialite crafted up when an introvert said "I don't care how fucking cool you are bro...you're irritating me now go away."

I'm very introverted but I'm not anti social...which I think is the stigma/confusion you speak of. I have a hand full of friends/family that I'm very close and attached to that I socialize with frequently. I'm just very slow/cautious/picky when making new friends/family of choice...

I couldn't have summed up the introvert perspective any better. lmao

ENTJ though my J and P are just about even.

I think people tend to oversimplify introversion and extroversion. Introverts are not automatically shy or socially inept nor are extroverts always surrounded by dozens of friends. I'm not a big fan of humans and have very few I let get close. However I like to be out, crowds don't phase me, and striking up a conversation with a stranger (who I will never see again) is fun. If I spend too much time completely alone, I get into a funk.

True. Traits are normally distributed, and so is introversion/extroversion. Some of us prefer one on one social intercourse, some run for President. The trick is to find the mix that suits you.

Mine's spot on and so is Ulaven's.

I'm INFP, he's ISTJ. We're completely opposite except for the I.

My encore career goal is to be a serial killer, how much more extroverted can you be!

I'm almost 100% on all of my traits. I never come up any differently on the testing. Ulaven's the opposite and the needle's slammed the other way. Over time he's moved from mercenary to duty fulfiller, but I've been where I am every time I've taken it.

Introversion is not about how socially adept you are. I'm socially adept and I'm not uncomfortable in social settings. It just makes me tired. I don't draw my energy from other people, other people disperse my energy.

My daughter's a massive extrovert.

All things in all, I much prefer introversion. Extroversion appears incredibly needy and frenetic. All I need is a book.

I think the old Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory is better at illuminating people. I took it in grad school, and the results are spot-on. My most deviant traits are Anxiety (1st percentile) and Psychopathological Deviancy (75th percentile). That is, I color outside the lines and dont give a shit if you hate my Crayola preferences when I do it.

God bless the books. And people do deplete you.

I'm okay with people. As I can take 'em or leave 'em I don't have the same amount of hatred for humanity at large, because I don't rely on them for an inherent social need that they inevitably can't fulfill.

I never get stir crazy or cabin fever or any other social malady that others suffer. I never need to have another person around to converse with by the end of the day or I'll "go crazy". I work at home and I'm absolutely happy with that circumstance.

Yep. I was born to be a farmer. And we dont smother others.
