Moonlight Elf

Update from Fairysong:

Moonie's cold turned out to be much worse. By the end of the day she complained of bad headaches(which I thought was an after effect from the brain injury), stiff neck.. she said it hurt to bend her head. Later that night she has a high fever, the light was hurting her eyes and she was throwing up. They suspected Meningitis and immediately ordered for tests to be done.

They did a procedure called a spinal tap to check the fluid there for infection. The fluid came out cloudy. It is supposed to be clear in a healthy person. They sent the sample fluid in for culture then began a course of antibiotics asap. It takes 2 days for the results to come out and it is too long to wait without treatment. The CSF fluid was sent for examination of white blood cell, red blood cell, glucose , protein, Gram stain, culture , and possibly latex agglutination test, limulus lysates, or PCR for bacterial DNA. There are 2 main types of Meningitis Viral and Bacterial. There is no medication to cure the viral but the viral meningitis is not life threatening and goes away on its own in a few days. Bacterial Meningitis is very serious and can be life threatening. The chances are high that she has bacterial meningitis because she is a brain injury patient. Many patients with severe brain injury develop this illness.

Please keep the prayers coming. I will check my emails so if there is anything to pass on let me know.
hugs,
Fairysong

I will send a personal prayer to the goddess that I believe in. I know how fear for that goes, my father was diagnosed with spinal meningitis about a year ago. She is definitely in my thoughts, my heart goes out to her. At least they are doing the tests though, which is a good thing.

it must be law now...she has to be able to catch a break soon, especially with all of us well wishing and good vibe sending.
GET BETTER NOW.
its no longer a request but a demand.

I will pray to Asklepios for her. He is my religion's god of health and medicine. I just read this and am horrified that things have taken such a rough turn. Hang in there, Moonie, we are all praying for and/or thinking of you. Hugs and kisses. :rose:

you're in my thoughts, my prayers and my heart, love. We're all pulling for you here -you can do it!

Some goodish news....her parents are coming in!

I've mailed the gift and cards and sent everyones well wishes.
