Good god almighty this whole period thing just SUCKS!

I just had the fucking thing 10 days ago!
I'm NOT due!
It's NOT my turn again!

So.
I'm 46.
I've had two verifiable hot flashes, one at the end of 2001 and one a few months later in 2002.
I've had periods that are getting a teensy bit irregular for a couple years--kinda alarming for someone who could set a watch on her periods all her life.

But now--NOW!--i've begun to get extra periods. This isn't the first time, either--just the first time they've been so close together.

This just sucks!

At the end of things, aren't our periods supposed to kinda sorta just gently wind down...occurring further and further apart in time...coming round less and less frequently...until one day they just...s t o p?

Instead, i'm getting them all the fucking time!
That's just *not* right.
It sucks.

that is so cool. i knew nothing when i first began my period. i had no idea what was happening and i was afraid something was wrong with me and didn't tell anyone. on top of that when i finally really had flow i was on holiday at a family friend's house...i was so embarassed that no one had told me this would happen.

My mom made a big deal of it and I HATED it with a passion. I hated her for mentioning it to anyone. I wasn't even going to tell her. Her and my older sister both would use that time of the month to bitch about cramps and be as bitchy as they wanted to be. Like their free pass. I hated them for it and swore I would never be like that. Sure I get bad cramps but I just stay to myself and deal with the pain. I don't go around bitching because I can, and I certainly don't go around telling everyone it is that time of the month. I never understood that.
