Menstrual Hut

Actually, I think it's a brilliant idea by Starfish. The perfect thread to keep it all in one place.

Sorry, I don't need to brown nose, unlike some. I practice 100% honesty.

And since this thread is SPECIFICALLY for menstrual related problems, if you want to keep it up, then take it out of here and not mess this thread up.

Thank you.

MMMM...that is so good, Raspberry Leaf Tea, a friend of mine let me try it, now I have to find out where she got it from.

Waiting on the stupid thing again.... My cycle (if you can call it that) is so off...I spend half the month crampy and bitchy and the other half wondering if I am going to be.

oh a link for all of you...

A GREAT WAY TO KEEP TRACK

I was on the pill for years, and stopped for a few months.

Now I'm back on it again. But every month I will start spotting during ovulation, right up to the day of my period. Has this happened to anyone before? I'm going mental!

Any natural or whole food store will have it. I pick mine when the raspberry bushes nearby are blooming. I usually don't get enough and end up buying some.

It's a special weed in my book....a true woman's friend, gentle and effective.

It can take a few months for spotting to stop when you start or change a pill. Just your body getting used to it. If it goes more than a few months you should talk to your caregiver about it.

BTW....when you're on the pill you shouldn't be ovulating. Right now you're body's confusing so it's spotting instead.

Thank you weed. And yes, that's true. But its when my pills change colours that I was referring to. I thought that was the ovulation time.

This is the 2nd month, so we'll see how it goes next time. Thank you for your help.

I got so sick every day when I was on the pill, my doctor explained it like Weed did. My system was all messed up getting used to the pill and it thought it was pregnant, ergo the sickness!

No problem. The brain ultimately controls the raising and lowering the levels of estrogen and progesterone in your body that causes ovulation when the egg is released. The whole idea of the hormones in the pill is to provide a steady level of hormones that does not cause ovulation. The brain shuts off its attempts at control after a 1-3 months usually. The dose of hormones in the pill changes in the kind that have more than two colors but still works to stop ovulation. Ovulation is your fertile time.

If you've just got two colors then you should be having your period when you change colors to the one different week.

That's how I felt, too, Lady G. Migraines, too. Yuk.

I have 3. They change about 7 days into my cycle for about a week. Then I have the sugar pills for when I am menstrating.

I used to get sick and have migraines. And cramps that I swore were as bad as labour! But when I'm on the pill it just vanishes. I don't even get sore breasts anymore.

Add me to the afflicted. Anyone ever want to cut out your uterus with a dull knife?

Vicodin is my friend.

I'm resurrecting the thread to share a ridiculously painful moment I endured last night. Maybe it'll help some poor unsuspecting soul. Or maybe it will just give someone a laugh at my expense.

So anyway. I'm size 14, and last month during my trip down the Feminine Hygiene aisle I noticed a new overnight pad, made for sizes 14 and up. I've never had problems with the regular kind, but I decided to give it a whirl.

The pads are huge. The front end goes well past my pubes and almost to my belly button. I really did feel like I was wearing a diaper. I crawled into bed, and noticed something didn't feel right. I reached down, and discovered the front end of the pad had curled over on itself, turning the sticky side back onto my skin. With its excessive size, this means the sticky strip went across all of my pubes, and clung mercilessly. Imagine ripping off a band-aid the size of your forearm. It hurt. A lot.

Ah, the neverending joys of womanhood.

There is, of course, a solution to this problem. Go bare, my sister, go bare! :D

Humph

Okay, so, if you had no tampons, maxis or anything but a cup shaped leaf to sit on to catch it, while other women sat around you, what would you talk about/do?

I think I'd try to have it where I can paint up some menstrual art, with my pain and agony. I would make it my av then.

If I did that for real, what would you people think? Do I care? No, but I did just bleed all over myself and I am wanting to share it with you in an altered form.

Answer my questions.

Damn, already? Has it been that long since the last one?

I've been very pleasantly suprised at how much the pill has affected me. I've gone from three days of throwing up, dizziness, and those labor pain cramps with two more days of tolerable cramps and bleeding to 3 days of light bleeding with no noticeable cramps at all.

This didn't happen the last time i took the pill. Whoever said the newer pills were wonderful was definitely right.

Oh, the memories! As Cheyenne said, go bare. Its much less painful.

Kitte, thanks for the link to the diary.

Also I wanted some advice on pain relief, currently I take 7 or 8 generic tylenol 1's with added codiene for the pain. This stops the pain, which is good cause me and pain really don't get along, but it laves me high on codiene in the process, which is not desirable.

Indigo, my doctor told me that the biggest mistake we make is not taking the pain meds soon enough. She said you should take them at the first sight of blood, and not wait until the cramping begins. Four over-the-counter advil every 8 hours.

Works for me.

ps. You could cause liver damage with that amount of Tylenol young lady.
