The Literotica Post is one of the few variables you can control in the Literotica posting process. In many cases it is entirely your decision on which topic to choose or how to answer the question. You have complete control of the end result. The post is your opportunity to bring your thread to life and to present the real you.

DO
Carefully choose your topic. Be sure to choose something that is personal to you and that you will enjoy telling a story about. This is where you will find your voice. Write honestly and from your heart. Do not try to figure out what the Literotica readers want to read.

2. Choose a moment in time rather than an “event.” Long diatribes about vacations, sporting championships, tragedies are very commonplace in posts and, therefore, are quite boring to Literotica readers. Select a moment in time — some time in your life when something you saw/did made you look differently at that person, place or thing.

3. Show your personality. The Literotica reader wants to know more about you through your post. Avoid clichés. Don’t be afraid to show your sense of humor, your passion for or against a controversial topic. Show the ‘you’ that is not apparent in the rest of your thread.

4. Be creative. Step outside the box and do something different. Make your post stand out! There are days when Literotica reader read close to 100 posts (in addition to everything else in the thread).
The first paragraph tells the reader how creative you are and how eager he/she will be to read the rest of the post.

5. Use imagery, anecdotes, and stories. Actual events make a story more believable. (Reread Number 2.) When you write from the heart, the story is much better told.

6. Be brief. Stick to the suggested length as stated in the thread. If no length is stated, no more than two, double-spaced, typed pages will suffice. Even if you have a great post, if it is several pages in length it may not get read thoroughly because of the volume Literotica people read in a tight time frame.

7. Be Upbeat. It is positive energy, not negative, that gets attention. Literoticas want to know how you resolved difficulties, not how you are laboring under them. They want to know how you have what it takes to succeed. They don’t want to hear a long, whining story about how unfair life is. If some aspect of your high school record needs explaining (illness, leave of absence, a disastrous semester), explain. Don’t provide a ton of excuses, avoid the sob story, and don’t ramble.

8. Write your post in advance. Prepare a rough draft at the end of junior year or during the summer. After you write your first draft, let it sit for a day or two. Then, go back and look at it with a fresh perspective and keep improving it.

9. Get it proofread. Choose someone who can be objective with your writing and is a strong writer. Absolutely no cross-outs are acceptable, nor are spelling and grammatical errors. “Spell check” on the computer will not suffice for checking your work.

10. Answer the question. You’d be surprised at how many students just submit one post to all Literoticas to which they apply. This shows lack of interest and laziness on their part and will certainly reflect negatively in the Literotica process.

DON’T
1. Use words that are not in your everyday vocabulary.

2. Repeat the information contained elsewhere in the thread. Talking about your soccer career will be a snoozer to the Literotica reader.

3. Exceed the recommended length.

So, no, I don't often consider the length of the post.

I would rather see 5 separate one line posts than 1, 5 line post. And I reLize some topics require a more lengthy reply based on the nature of the post. I'm curious, does anyone ever concern themselves with the length of their post or does everyone just post.....

It depends on the thread and just as mentioned, nature of the post. There is one thread I have been posting on recently that I feel merits discussion on an often difficult to understand topic. A one line question often requires a not-so one line answer.

I always seek to shorten posts. If I quote, usually to play catchup, I will shorten the original posts as I have done above. I edit, remove, proofread, preview, censor then submit.

SweetSam makes a good point on phones, but due to the length, she's likely skipping my posts anyways. ;)

Lol...I got through the first two lines...just like at school!

For the record my post has never seen, much less touched, Aqua's briefs.
