Back to work Litiquette-ville, long weekend is over.

I realize this could just be a ChainedUp thing, but one of my pet peeves is to come into Lit in the morning and see the same name as the last poster on almost every thread. It tells me two things:
1) it's slow at Lit
2) someone has no particular likes other than seeing their name all over the most recently posted board

On a picture thread, it's totally fine to post lots of pics that are in theme. That's why we're looking. But I'm just not a fan of seeing people spread themselves all over the boards, are you?

I think it is just a ChainedUp thing.

I can't say that it actively bothers me..
but if I only ever see the same name on the "would you ____ the person above you" thread, it seriously limits my options.

I agree. This is the only time it bugs me and even then I wouldn't really say bugs, I just don't participate in that thread.

meh....if it's a slow night and someone is just looking to play and interact I can see how it happens easily. If it's a thread where I'd like to post but have already posted behind that person I'll just wait.

Well, it depends who does it and how they spread themselves.
Spreadeagled is always quite nice, I think. Or sideways. Or on their stomach. Or half sitting, leaning on their elbows. So many poses are possible and make men look wonderful on the deck. But just lying there, maybe even asleep, limbs thrown around kind of haphazardly, Nah, that doesn't do much for me.

I'll confess that, if I'm in a grumpy mood, then it sometimes niggles me to see people making scattergun postings that don't appear to add much to a thread -- presumably in order to get their name noticed.

I'm not a prolific poster, partly because I tend to hold myself back unless I feel (rightly or wrongly!) that I have something worthwhile to say. I sometimes wonder whether I go unnoticed at times because my visibility and post count is consequentially quite low. It's not a big deal, though, and I'm certainly not going to change my posting habits on that basis.

I wouldn't elevate it to my pet peeve status, but I feel that has a chilling effect. I tend to find the threads with the same old posters to end up kind of in-bred and less interesting to me. Although I am aware there are some folks here who very much like the in-bred thing . . . .
