An easier question for us to answer. That first time, the moment we lost our virginity, if we had it to do all over again would you opt to not have it happen just then or do you think, that the first time is never as perfect as we intend so sure, that experience was just fine as it was?

I wouldnt change it. I did write a story, but lit rejected it due to age restrictions. I rewrote and tried again, still no luck. So, its still on paper.

Just heard this line...and wondering how out of bounds it might be:

"Ooooh, girl. You thicker than a bowl'a oatmeal!"

Let me know for science and etiquette.

The first time was totally unplanned and unexpected. One night in high school I: got drunk for the first time, got stoned for the first time, smoked hash for the first time, and had sex for the first time. Would I wish to have waited until it could be better?? Things never work out as we would plan them to be, so no. I just know I never had to spend any time worrying, wondering, or planning for the first one; and never spent time regretting it either.

Happy Labor Day!!!

So, you're surfing around Your favorite threads at Lit and you notice someone posting something or in a manner that you know you wouldn't. Not necessarily "wrong" but perhaps not optimal. Do you saunter over and try to help the person out even though they didn't ask or do you think to yourself "that's not how I'd do it" and move on.

I probably would think "someone is gonna rip them apart" and then move on, lol

It was what it was. I hadn't it expected to be a mind-blowing experience (not even deep down in my heart, honestly!) but knowing what I know now, it could have been a much better experience and still not mind-blowing. Too eager (one of us), too inexperienced (both of us) and too much in a hurry (both of us) because of cold, and the curfew. I don't regret it though.

Happy Labor Day!!!

I did help out a few times in the past, but now I move on.

Happy Labor [sic] Day to all whom it may concern. :)

I don't think I'd ever dare to suggest (or imply) to someone that I have a better idea of how to communicate than they do. First, I'm unlikely to believe that. Secondly, I recognise the dangers of trying to impose my personal standards on someone else's expression. The furthest that I'd go might be to ask them for clarification, perhaps suggesting my own interpretation of their words for comparison and contrast.

I reckon that, at least half of the time, my adverse reactions to postings are due to my lack of understanding of the context behind them (often resolved later). On that basis, it doesn't generally seem reasonable to me to wade in with "advice", even if I mean it constructively.

if I see someone posting something that would obviously be better received in a different section of the forum, I'll link them to it..

Whenever I played the question threads and someone posted along with me in the wrong way, I would then pose that as my next question. Such as:

Have you ever read the rules to this thread?

Some would get it, some wouldn't.

These are examples of the kind of things I did too.

Happy Labour Day.....happy day before my kids go to school !!!!!!!!!!

Would I say something? Depends. Sometimes in threads like 'abc whatever' I'll post things like remember, it's a.b.c.....
As for correcting someone, probably not. There are enough people who already will help...or criticize ...
If it's someone I had a relationship with than I'm sure I would.

This brings up a thought.

Bad spelling and grammar has been an ongoing pet peeve of many. When PMing someone, do you correct theirs or end up getting annoyed enough that you don't want to bother anymore and never really give a reason for not replying as much?

Poor spelling or grammar doesn't irritate me per se. For me, the off-putting factor would be the perception that the other person isn't making an effort to keep up a dialogue. As in real life, I'd take a series of monosyllabic responses as a sign that the other person is bored or uninterested, and I'd back off quietly. On the other hand, if a message appears earnest even if poorly-formed, then I'll make a lot of effort to understand it and respond appropriately and sensitively.

Happy Labor Day!!

I would not step in. This is the reason why I have never started a thread. I don't think I would do it right and I would hate to feel ridiculed if I was corrected.

It'd be your thread, under your direction.

I don't because I'm lazy and would forget to moderate. And then I'd get annoyed thinking why doesn't it just die already.

My first time was ridiculous. But I don't regret it because it's a funny story. Lol

Back to work Litiquette-ville, long weekend is over.

I realize this could just be a ChainedUp thing, but one of my pet peeves is to come into Lit in the morning and see the same name as the last poster on almost every thread. It tells me two things:
1) it's slow at Lit
2) someone has no particular likes other than seeing their name all over the most recently posted board

On a picture thread, it's totally fine to post lots of pics that are in theme. That's why we're looking. But I'm just not a fan of seeing people spread themselves all over the boards, are you?

Well, it depends who does it and how they spread themselves.
Spreadeagled is always quite nice, I think. Or sideways. Or on their stomach. Or half sitting, leaning on their elbows. So many poses are possible and make men look wonderful on the deck. But just lying there, maybe even asleep, limbs thrown around kind of haphazardly, Nah, that doesn't do much for me.

I don't care, honestly. Attention seekers are annoying for sure, though.

I can't say that it actively bothers me..
but if I only ever see the same name on the "would you ____ the person above you" thread, it seriously limits my options.

If it's ME you're cool with it though, right? :p

Oh, I like how you think!!! I agree with dutchrain! :D LOL
