Life hits us all really hard sometimes. I'll admit, pmann is going through a bit of a struggle at the moment. What do you guys do to cope with things? How do you handle difficult situations? What is it that gets you out of a funk?
In a word: running. :)
.

Okay, since I've been appointed thread leader (chain would have wanted it this way), I'll ask another question.

Sorry you're going through a struggle right now pmann.

I believe there aren't many funks that a good cry, workout or orgasm can't relieve...even if only temporarily. Eventually you'll have to face your problem and deal with it obviously...but those things help me cope.

Ah thanks guys. :) I truly didn't post that to get a reaction, but the thoughts are much appreciated.

Sorry to hear that, pmann :(

For me, I usually tend to keep to myself for a while, mull things over, and more than likely have a really good cry. But I do have one amazing friend who I can just call to talk about anything. He listens, never judges, and can often get a laugh or at least a smile out of me. As much as I'd like to keep things inside and just work through whatever problems I might have, talking to him always helps ease the load off my shoulders.

Usually a nice drive in the country or go exploring. Sometimes hanging out with friends, which is hard when your 1800 miles away from home. I have a few lifelong friends I can call that help me see the brighter side of things.

I like to grant myself some alone-time to get away from the difficulties. A nice ride on my bicycle with a cup of tea and a piece of cake in my favorite café looking over the lake. Or a visit to the zoo. Or a meeting with friends. Or carnival. The last is only possible once a year, but then for five days at once! Since a few years I have made it a rule carnival is me-time during which I am not responsible for filling the fridge, cooking, or any other household chores different from sweeping up the confetti floating down from and out off my clothes.

Noting is solved then, but I feel refreshed and up to tackle things again.

Wonderful responses, guys and girls.

Today is Friday which means the weekend is upon us. For some, it has already started (those time zoned challenged Aussies). Since yesterday was a question of deep thoughts and such, we will go much less deep today. (Teehee)

When you meet someone who attracts you, what is the first thing that catches your eye? It can be shallow. It doesn't matter. I mean, I'm sure Wide_Eyed_Indulgence is going to be shy to say that she uses the dick pic she gets as a litmus test. It's okay WEI. No one is judging you. (I am, just a little) But we all find different things captivating. For some it's eyes, smile, arse or even the maze of veins running around a rigid meat stick. Whatever floats your boat.

I am talking physical stuff here, too. I mean, for instance, a certain Aussie might be willing to say that she was initially attracted to my humour, wit, charm, brilliance, etc. But I mean my physical traits. It could be my stick arms. My stick legs. My disproportionately long torso. My fuzzy hair. My 36pt line weight cock.

For me, the first thing is the face. That's what I see before anything. Then, immediately following that, is breasts. I love boobs. They are as beautiful as the day is long. Unless they aren't.

Holy Toledo - I leave for a couple of days and THIS GUY is in charge?!?!?!

I like the way he compliments me.. but we're not allowed to say THAT.. lol

hmmm.. In general, I'm attracted to an overall sense of style. It can be any style. I like when a person commits to a look, be it the nerdy scientist, the corporate executive, the tattered landscaper.. whatever. When I take it a step further, I tend to be sexually drawn to the clean cut men who look as if they do SOME sort of exercise daily - even if they hate it.
There is something sexy about a man who creates a sense of style. It shows that he pays attention to details, something that I find translates well in bed.

If we're just talking physical features - if a man has strong forearms, I find myself staring at his veins, his muscles, the movement of his tendons while he eats, writes, types, plays guitar, turns the pages of his newspaper.. until I can imagine what they look like moving over my body

No, compliments are not okay. Not at all. It's a form of sexism, it is.

I think chained would want me keeping his thread warm. I'll turn it over to him once he returns.

So I see you've never really thought about it.

And style is indeed important, says the fashion fairy. For those of you who don't know, I'm known as the fashion fairy around these parts. But it's totally manly, I can assure you.

Another thing I notice which is somewhat a physical trait, is a woman's shoes. I swear to god if I see one more girl wearing navy shoes and carrying a black purse I'm going to scream. The shoes need to match the outfit. But more than that, they can't be scuffed up. That's worse than the mismatched colours.

Every morning I pray:

Dear Lord help me endure the fashion follies of others. Amen.

Physically...eyes & smile.
But if they don't have a sense of humour, forget it.

The smile. .. and it has to reach the eyes, or I'm turned off! I can't stand phonies.

After that, the hands and arms and neck. Strong is good.

Mostly, I'm just here to post stalk the three beauties posted above.

I'm drawn to women who are easy-going, down -to- earth, and genuine. I don't get caught up in specific looks like short hair vs long, blonde vs brunette or short vs tall, etc. Just be yourself, be friendly, sarcastic and fun.

That's all there is to it really.

For a cawk-flashing compulsive, you sure are sensitive about other's dick pics, pmann. Just settle down here -- it is Friday after all. But to answer the question . . .

If every single physical thing is perfection, but he has bad teeth that is a non-starter. Bad teeth can trump every good thing. But truly, if every other thing was perfection, I might pay to have his teeth fixed. :)

Typical things for me are: Eyes, strong jawline. I also pay much attention to large masculine hands and forearms. It is hard to focus too much on one thing -- the total package does really matter. And if physical gifts are not quickly followed up with intelligence and humor, all bets are off.

Exactly this for me. --^

As I've explained in other threads, I find eyes fascinating and wonderfully reflective of a person as a whole. They need to be treated with respect, though -- too much eye contact or the wrong kind can be creepy. As a fairly reserved person, it took me a while to learn to make enough eye contact to get noticed positively. Fortunately, that's applicable well beyond the field of dating. I still feel a frisson of excitement when I get it right and participate in a momentary exchange of warm chemistry with someone. :)

I'll admit that I'm also strongly attracted by a nice pair of legs, but as a bonus; if they're accompanied by cold or dead eyes then that doesn't work for me. My own oddity is that boobs aren't a factor in attraction for me; I see them as a pleasing attachments but not part of the main sell.

I also agree with Thandi about a common sense of humour -- that's essential for me to be attracted to someone, whether as a lover or as a friend.

*Smiles, laughs, looks deeply into your eyes.* Yup.:)

All this talk about humour and personality disgusts me, people. Can't you just look skin deep? Does it always have to be what's on the inside. This is what is wrong with society these days. *wags judgmental finger*

Fine.

A nice package is always appreciated!
