Such a tease . . . .

But I play the guitar too (surely not as well as you) but I don't think long nails are helpful. What am I missing?

Of course not as good as me!!! :D Rainshine has seen and heard me play a bazillion times and she can attest for the fact that I'm the best ever. She might be a bit biased though.

They are helpful if you don't use a pick. I play classical (because I'm a classy motherfucker) and fingerstyle guitar (think James Taylor) and they are necessary. Plus, fingernails sound way better than guitar picks do.

I started playing when I was a wee pboy, at about 8 years of age. That's the reason for the big gap on the one hand. But I started playing fingerstyle and classical when I was about 13 and I grew out my nails then. So, for almost 20 years, I've had one normal hand and one Wolverine hand. Except much cooler than Hugh Jackman's Wolverine hand. Oddly, I can't stand the least bit of nails on my left hand. But if I break one on my right, it feels so weird. I've had to go get fake ones put on before.

I've known a few classical guitarists and I've come to like wolverine hands.

Hello Literoticans. It's Sunday and the weekend is coming to a close. Hopefully today will be a nice day of rest for everyone. (I'm working on my Chainese)

So we were talking about musicianship. It got me thinking, what talents do you find attractive? What gifts do you appreciate? Arts? Music? Poetry????? Athleticism?

Anyone who has a gift is attractive to me.
But I really have a thing for musicians...:D

I have a thing for cellists ...I watch their fingers fly and just fall into a completely inappropriate reverie

I like a good rock musician too

You are working on your Chainese? You talk it like a pro already!

I don't think there is a talent I don't think attractive. Even green thumbs are impressive. The talk going with it can get a bit boring though, if to be able to lounge in the grass and have a barbecue once in a while are ones own only requirements to a garden.

I find it inherently attractive when someone is passionate about any topic. It isn't their knowledge or talent per se that hooks me, but rather their emotional engagement and energy when they express it.

Musicianship has a special place for me, though. I've never had any musical upbringing or training, but I believe that I have some latent aptitude, and I get strongly engaged when I witness someone with great talent. I'd love to be taught by someone who enjoys me sharing with them my excitement of learning for the first time.

Okay, who didn't chuckle at this. :D

I also find most any talent or passion attractive. But what really gets me is the handyman type - someone who likes to build/fix things. I just find it so incredibly sexy. Also, a man who enjoys cooking, that's a great one too! And musicians, they're almost always sexy.

I had a concert to play one Friday night about give years ago. I broke a nail playing football at work on Wednesday. So, I went in to the salon and got one acrylic nail put on, which was a weird request. The next day, I was playing football at work and I broke that fake nail, which hurt like hell. I had to go BACK and get one put on again. The girls in the shop were giving me a hard time about it.

For me, I find passion and talent really sexy. I find musicianship an extremely attractive quality. Though, I do not find girl drummers or bassists attractive, as a general rule. Not sure why. Just something unfeminine about those instruments. Maybe I'm a sexist pig. And I've seen girls play those instruments who are attractive. It's just not a typical thing I find attractive.

I just find it extremely sexy when someone is very good at what they do. Whatever it is. Music. Cooking. Sewing. Photography. Arts and crafts. Whatever. I just like people who can perfect their skill.
