Friday. Yes! If it were only Friday night ;)

Exclusivity. I don't think there is very much of that here in Lit. Even in relationships where it is professed, I still think there's action on the side. And my hunch is that it's more prevalent here than in RL. Is that because online just makes it easier to be with multiple partners or is it the type of oerson drawn to Lit is also the type to have multiple partners anyway?

I'm definitely not the type to have multiple RL partners...tried it, hated it.

I think Lit lends itself to multiple online partners. If you come here expecting an exclusive relationship, and find one, and then you're both still here playing, it's bound to happen sooner or later that someone comes along who turns you on. There are just too many charming sexy people here. I'm sure there are exceptions, and there are many who post here who don't play at all...they come here for fun and flirting because they are exclusive in RL. :)

I haven't ever considered this a venue for finding someone I want to be exclusive with. I suppose it could happen, because I know others it's happened to. I just can't imagine it working out to actually be able to be with the person, and it seems kind of pointless if that's not going to happen. IRL, that would be another story.

I guess I'm not clear on just what "exclusive" means in on online world. In real life it's clear but here I think the boundaries can blur very easily. Some relationships start out as friendly chat, and then get frisky; some start as flirtation but eventually you learn more, and care more, about the person. Personally I find that one of the most attractive aspects of Lit, the variety and the change - not only of meeting new people but also of the changing and growing nature of relationships here. I know the limits of real life; I choose to also spend time here where those limits aren't so clear or strict.

I post in order to help distract myself from the inevitable necessity of acknowledging the meaningless void and ultimately fruitless endeavor that is the universe and to postpone for even five more minutes coming to terms with my soulless, painful existence.

Oh, and because titties.

LOL......

I wonder how many of us fool around here because we want to avoid fooling around in real life. I'm guessing a lot of us.

On another note, for me, I'm here to have a good time and learn some things. I'm not here to get into a relationship full of jealousy and expectations. Perhaps I have a skewed vision of what being exclusive online means. I'm not saying I have multiple 'partners' but I like the freedom and power I get from Lit, and an exclusive relationship would screw all that up.

And I agree that defining sexual exclusivity is individual. Masturbating with someone over Skype is not a betrayal to my marriage, because I have full permission from my husband to do so. Not everyone can say that, I realize. Now, forming an emotional attachment to that person beyond a friendship would indeed be inappropriate. I think I'm getting off topic.

I would agree with much of this. I think there are a lot of people here who play online to avoid being RL unfaithful. Perhaps thats not right, I don't know, but if it forms a release for someone, and can help maintain their RL fidelity, maybe its a good service!

We have acknowledged that Lit is a place where we can freely experiment and find our sexual selves. I'm curious, and I know this probably won't have a great response rate, how many of us have experiment beyond "traditional" sexual boundaries. Tried something that you wouldn't want your friends to know you tried. And has anyone discovered they enjoy something way more than tey thought they ever would?

Yes. Yes. Yes.

I would say that this holds true in my real life. There are many things I do in the privacy of an intimate relationship that I would never discuss over brunch or while sitting side-by-side in pedicure recliners. As far as the last question goes, I would say that I've been more surprised by my responses regarding things that I didn't like.

way to many things ;) And i would never meet them over coffee and discuss them in great detail. Had to erase a lot of things from my computer when my Aunt and Uncle came up for a visit because i just knew they were going to have to use mine and boy am i glad that i did !! Don't want to give the old people a heart attack :D

I have been surprised by much in my journey here on Lit, and it has transferred over to RL (whenever I get any, mind you).
It's a good thing.:D

I haven't been turned on to anything new in my time here. Different people, for sure... but I had my kinks long before coming to Lit. It doesn't bother me if people other than my family know about them... I was banned at one place from talking about sex, those boys down in WV aren't very enlightened..lol

I think I have just learned more about myself, and more about the opposite sex.

I come here because my own sex life is somewhat complicated, so I don't get to try out much in the way of new stuff to be honest!

I interrupt this thread for a very important non-Litiquette topic. It's Triple Crown Saturday, and the opportunity to witness something that hasn't happened in over 35 years. I say California Chrome wins the Belmont and the Triple Criwn right along with it.

Thank you for your patience in this non-Litiquette topic.

It is times like this that I hate having no tv service! :(

Lesson one - Wandering from the thread's original purpose kills thread

I'd like to go back to a topic Aquagal brought up, and that's what to do with information about people's Lit relationships. My hunch is that Lit will be no different than RL, where that type of information is rarely disclosed. Rightly or wrongly, the tendency is to not share. Should we or shouldn't we.......

are you asking if we should disclose it to one another within the context of Literotica or if those people should disclose relationships to RL friends and family?

On the first, I would no sooner disclose information you had shared with me about your personal relationships here than I would about your chronic illness, your child's struggles to become an adult, or the tears you shed over placing your parents in a nursing home. I will also never share the joys someone shares with me about grade school graduations, happy birthday kisses or overdue romance.

I respect the people that I have befriended here just as I do the friends I have chosen in real life. To the people with whom I have not developed friendships, I wish them no ill will and spreading gossip rarely serves a positive purpose.

As far as what people share about this place to those from the outside - I choose not to impose my own opinions on someone else's situation.

Because I really don't care who has relationships with who on Lit, I personally would not share any information I either knew directly (because they told me) or indirectly (because I read about it on the boards). I also have the same approach in real life. The inner details of a persons relationships - good, bad, indifferent - belong to them, along with the karma that adheres to such actions.

There is a real life exception to that rule that may cross over into Lit - that is if that conduct involves criminal activity or domestic violence. Then, I have to sit down and think about the action to take. Now, one of the challenges on Lit is that most of the conduct here is simply the exchange of words and words are ephemeral things.

At the end of the day, I am not the keeper of someone else's sex life - or general life. To each their own, according to their desires and needs.

I don't share things with others and expect the same discretion. I know the girls talk off the board about guys.. and I don't mind, I don't share anything with anyone that I'm afraid to let get out. I don't have ulterior motives here other than to make the girls laugh and make their pussies wet. I'm here for my enjoyment.

I also think some people take this place WAY too seriously. A mistake I made one time myself.

You better keep my secrets pretty eyes.
