Is Lit someplace where you can easily judge how full your plate is? Or do you end up loosening your pants to ease strain of over indulging?
I have been known to loosen my clothing in my own thread, but not in order to ease any particular strain. :D

My Lit "plate" tends to vary in size quite dramatically. I fit my time for my Lit life and my Lit friends around real life activities, which tend to arrive in bursts. Fortunately, my Lit friends appear to understand this, and often have the same issue themselves.

In terms of Lit threads, I try to make the time to keep up with those that I'm actively following (top priority goes to ones where I'm the OP and I need to acknowledge replies) but even that good intention gets thwarted at times.

So... no... it isn't easy for me to judge.

Happy Monday everyone! Can happiness be found at Lit? Or is Lit a holding area where we get ourselves readjusted for RL? Sure there's fun to be had, naughtiness lurking behind the corner, or a friendly banter to be engaged with but is happiness embedded in those or have we become our own Lit dogs chasing our tail?

A resounding yes. I realize I'm probably a different breed than most here, particularly in the Playground. However, as I've stated in this thread earlier, I have found someone here who makes me happier than a pic in shit. I'll try to refrain from BDAs for you all. But, my relationship has been far more than flirting or convenient messages. I've depended upon her for a lot of things. Our trust extends far beyond what it does with anyone in what most are referring to as "Real Life".

My life is truly happier because of Lit. More specifically, because of a wonderful person I've met here on Lit. My happiness here comes not from the banter and threads, but from a very real and genuine relationship formed here.

I'm sure you all have your vomit bags out by now and are wishing I would shut it. Well fuck y'all. Hehe. I'm kidding. I just think different people are here for different reasons. No problem with either whatever reason a person comes here. Some come here for lighthearted fun and nothing more. Some come because where else are you going to find multiple people who share interest in seeing someone with a peg leg hump a goat and then hump that goat's underaged (in goat years) sister? Some people stay for other reasons.

I think you can find happiness in whatever nook and cranny you hang out in.
There's a few who have brought it to their RL in different ways. For me when I first joined, it helped me recognize who I was at this stage of my life. That translated into the bedroom.
It was a good thing.

Lol. We're just a couple of smart ladies. ;)
Too smart for our own good ;)

I was once asked if happiness is translated into brief moments of pure joy or if it's a continuous state of mind. Well, I chose to say the second..if you manage to be content with what you have then you can actually touch happiness. Now Lit is a forum where people might find ways of being content by posting or reading..moments of joy. But people is another thing, some bring them into their lives and find whatever they were looking for and if they do I have nothing to say against that. I find moments here..and sometimes not even those..

Dogs chasing tail?
No happiness to be found there.
:D

And I find moments. Rare intense moments, when someone sees right into me, and I into them...or someone makes me actually laugh out loud...and then reality snaps its' fingers...

I find that happiness arrives in a moment. The more I am present in that moment the happier I am. Because, for me, lit is an entertainment venue I only tend to come here when I am open to being entertained and to entertaining. I am already present and already happy when I log in. Otherwise I don't bother logging in. If lit fails to entertain me on any given night I simply move on. Happiness resides in the present moment. If it's not in this moment simply wait a bit and it will be in the next. It is also entirely possible that I am wearing my secret Zen underwear today. I enjoy them very much even though they are not quite as fun as my secret sin underwear.

Happy Tuesday! Novelty, the fun of a new thread, the first few weeks at lit, even a new lover, at first they're intriguing, then become near consuming, and then after awhile the novelty fades and it's business as usual. It happens in real life as well as Lit, but it seems not pronounced here. The highs higher, the lows lower, and the angle to them both is quite steep. I've always been fascinated with the fluidity of Lit. To the old timer litsters, does it ever even out? To the newbies, is the ride exhilarating enough that you don't mind the ups and downs

some people seem to be in the middle of romance and drama from the time they arrive until the time they fade away. I've certainly witnessed a few here who have either exchanged lovers when a new one comes along.. or have reinvented themselves when a character overstayed the welcome. I've been fortunate to not really have "lows" - maybe because I'm not risky enough to go after the highs. I can say that I have met a few people here who make the road worth traveling. I suppose that, for me, that's better than having things even out.

I don' t mind the ups and downs. (And I' ll move right past the easy play on words there.)
It' s just another way in which lit mirrors reality. But after all the momentary hoopla, I return to what keeps me here, and that' s the relationships I' ve formed with friends and lovers. It' s all about connection for me. That is the constant background hum, what anchors me.

the ups and downs come and go. been here a while, left for a while, back - forming new friendships as some of the constants from years ago have moved on.

Slipping in, trying to pretend I'm not late. Very similar to how I usually slip in.

A general question, would you rather cinverse with someone here that is extremely outgoing or is Lit best when you correspond with someone that chooses it's words carefully.

By "outgoing", do you mean "spontaneous" (i.e. writes without a great deal of reflection)? Some outgoing people might still consider their words carefully. ;)

Generally, I prefer to correspond with people who put a bit of effort into expressing themselves clearly. That doesn't bar spontaneity, though. Indeed, one might argue that emotional responses are best served freshly rather than after being stewed for hours in a pot of reflection.

So... I reckon that mileage varies on this one. Precise selection of words has its place (and I must admit that I tend to fall naturally in that direction as I strive for clarity) but it may not be necessary in every Lit thread. :)

Well that wasn't much of an exciting topic.

How often when you post are you mindful of who will read it and what their reactions are. I expect a lot of "I post what I want and let the others worry about how they react" but I think there are a great many of us that know who is watching and what their reactions could be.

On threads? Or via pm?

Either way, I think I enjoy a variety of personalities and communication styles.
It keeps me on my toes. :)

Couldn't agree more honey, the mix of people is what makes it interesting!

Hm, yes.....well....hm..... :D

I suppose it depends to a certain degree upon what's going on in my Lit life "behind the curtain," so to speak.

I tend to write my posts honestly, and don't think too much about what others think.

You can't please everyone after all....but being yourself is the best way to be...at least thats what I think!

Ahhhh, motive. Interesting topic. :D

For the most part, I'm here for escapism. I post in order to have fun. Lit is a great outlet for those thoughts that I would otherwise keep to myself. Some people are amused, some offended; And I don't care what people think of me. (That's a blatant lie. I'm not quite thick-skinned enough for that just yet.)

Have I posted things knowing that they're going to amuse/annoy/please/infuriate a certain litster (or litsters)?
Yup. I'm only human.

For the most part I bumble around the place posting whatever's going through my mind at that time. There's no buffer between my inner monologue and my fingers. *shrug*

I sometimes write angry and regret it, but then sometimes what I write gets misinterpreted and produces unexpected reactions. Generally if it's a LGBT thread, I think hard about how other persons might be feeling before posting - feelings can be hurt easily.
If I'm out of my knowledge zone in serious discussions I get worried someone smarter will make me look stoopid.
