So, Lit is a happy place for most of us. That's good!

But it's not the happiest place on earth, or is it? For the relatively small number of people here, and the amount of fun and excitement that is found within these walls, I would argue that Lit just might be the happiest place on earth. Screw that little mouse in FL & Cali.

Good morning Litiquette-izans. Secrets. There are threads devoted to them, anonymous threads where people reference them. My hunch is that for many, Lit itself is a secret. But I also believe we all carry secrets within Lit as well. Not that anyone needs to feel like purging their soul here, but what kind of secrets do you keep here? Is just that Lit lover that no one else knows about or is it something else?

My secrets on Lit would be confidences that people declare through PMs but other than that, what we post on the threads is no longer secret. Of course there may be times that people will be indiscreet and if they're quick enough they can edit it away before someone quotes it
There are still plenty of personal details I don't reveal - a girl needs to guard her mystery

I like having things for me only, and stretching myself at times.

Secrets is maybe a too strong word for me, maybe I would call it private matters. Secrets you don't tell anyone (even if one person knows about something you want to be a secret, it won't be a secret anymore) but private matters you might want to talk about.

Secrets. I'm not terrific at keeping them in real life. Here, I'm sometimes quick (perhaps too quick) to spill my own real life secrets to people I make a connection with - the beauty of anonymity, I suppose.

However, I like to keep my activities that go on behind the scenes here secret to the masses of Lit. What I'm doing and with whom I'm doing it are things I like to keep private. I don't like to flaunt my activities with specific people here, for various reasons. I do find a few Lit couples quite charming, but I think the back and forth between most couples is, frankly, nauseating.

I admit to being guilty of engaging in borderline nauseating (or perhaps no-so-borderline) activity on my own thread in the past, but I've since realized there's a fine line between what's entertaining and funny, and what makes people roll and avert their eyes. I just don't have the desire or need to publicly announce to the Lit universe who I'm doing in the privacy of Skype, etc.

I will add that I also love being someone's little secret...

Nothing wrong with that, in my eyes anyway. But what gets creepy is when you have someone that posts almost immediately after you, regardless of the thread. Trying to get yourself noticed is one thing, being creepy is another story all together.

there's lots of guys here like that.. they either stalk someone or stalk a bunch of them. They never have much else to add, I suppose they use the stalking as a substitute for any discernable game. I'd be ashamed if that's all I ever did here...and IMO it's really creepy.

I've played a little, in one of my threads. I find that it really feels more like another SRP than it does when I'm playing in private, perhaps because in the latter case I'm speaking to someone more directly, and there are certain differences in style and, uh, content.

It's not really something I'm looking to do more of. I've been here long enough that my relationships with some Litizens have evolved, then changed. I think it's more considerate to people who may have know me in a certain way not to make it glaringly obvious if I'm involved with someone.
