We've all fantasized, and some actually have, met a Lit lover. My hunch is that there'd be all sorts of formal and informal planning around it but in actuality every plan would fall by the wayside. On a side note there appears to be a discussion around me needing a profile picture. I would not ever post a real pic there but I might consider posting a pic that reflects who I am. In a attention whoring, look at me, stroke my ego, moment I think I'll let someone else choose my profile pic for me. Maybe a contest? Hmmm, I wonder what a could offer the winner.......

I've always found going for a walk with someone, or doing something other than just 'OMG, now we have to gel perfectly or the world will end'. Oh there will be some serious vetting on compatibility. Who he is. I will know how often he bathes, what he wears, eats, common interests, how he treats people, what kind of parent he is. I wouldn't go into it willy nilly.
Edit: why I consider fatherhood an issue would be I think I'd had no respect for someone that wasn't a good father. He has to be an all around good person. And It would not be seeking out marriage, I believe it just has something to do with who they are.

First things first.
A trustworthy friend will know what I'm doing and as much as I know about the person I'm meeting. By the time I'm meeting someone that should be a good bit (mean name, the place he calls home, that sort of thing--maybe not everything I know)
We meet in a public though not overly crowded place. A nice evening out then see where we go.
Stated up front is the fact that I make no promises but chemistry is chemistry.
