Life changing experience

There's no way in hell that you're from Jersey and you don't know who Kevin Smith is, ESPECIALLY if you're black. Black folk from Jersey are all kinda pissed off at underrepresentation in Smith films, AND made up a big portion of protesters when Dogma came out because apparently they are overrepresented in theological societies.

Welp just asked uncle about Kevin Smith and he don't know him either

Color and geography aside, it is not at all unreasonable that a) he is pretty non-political and b) was a little young for Clerks.

We could use some apolitical people under the age of 50 around here.

I thought he was a woman until he got mad when I called him one. . How much of a threat could he be?

Don't be fooled by him. He'll have you all distracted with his talk about art and rednecks and what an idiot he is and the next thing you know, POP, goes your anal cherry.

Yeah, but I'm woo woo not red dot. :rose:

I'm not red dot either. Woo hoo!

I never got mad. I said it was odd. I am a woman. When the mood strikes. I'm the hottest chick on the gb.

Post pics or I'm calling BS.

.

Pop goes your mother anal cherry I'm not with that type of shit

Jay and Silent Bob? Coupla moderately funny white dudes from jersey?

Fuck that shit, I'm 22 and I know from Clerks, my little brother who is 18 knows from Kevin Smith and we're ignorant rednecks. He's not political, or if he is, it isn't common knowledge. It's not possible to be from Jersey and not know who that is. It'd be like me being from Ky and not knowing who Johnny Depp was. When you're from a place that doesn't produce much, you cling to what you have.

You've seen me!

It's funny the passage of time. Every year of your life goes by faster than the year before so you lose track after a while what year some memory of yours is from.

When I think Classic movies, I think black and white sitting and watching them over the air TV in the 80's when they were like 40 years old. Those movies are 75 years old now.

Movies I think of as maybe the last 2-3 years are more like 10 years old...and movies that I think of as Blockbuster store rentals are 20 years old, before you were born. Getting old is weird, you don't feel old, but you are.

Clerks is older than you are. It just turned twenty.

Kevin Smith was writer director and co-star.

I'm almost positive that 22 is a bigger number than 20.

I was referencing the OP...I think he is 19.

Ah. My bad.

But you still know important shit about your state. I know who George fucking Clooney is. Being young doesn't make you culturally illiterate.

I realize that in redneck-ville they may not have a high dollar per public edumacation setup for y'all... but contrast that with the young man's locale. Newark has been a disaster as of late. Cultural literacy starts with actual literacy. I dunno but I can't see a local paper with a slick glossy gossip weekly magazine inside on his doorstep. I take him at his word he is fairly insular. Likely hasn't left his neighborhood for much of anything, ever. There are places in this world that are worlds unto themselves.

My version or redneck ville is like that at the moment. Hell we gotta go 45 miles to get to a Walmart, a McDonalds, A Verizon Store. I gotta drive 150 miles for Toyota or Honda parts. The people here know rodeo, but would have no idea about traffic signals on his block. There is literally only one traffic signal, and three railroad signals in my town and the one next door. There were two, but they took one out in favor of 4-way stop signs.

We call places like that cities.

I leave my hood all the time to go to your mother house

I leave my hood all the time to go to your mother house

Laughs. I thought we were don with yo momma.

Nice there on the Oregon Coast isn't it? Bit cooler than Jersey Shore in the summertime.

Tell Mom, Hi.

It's the game of life. Do I win or do I lose? One day they're gonna shut the game down. I gotta have as much fun and go around the board as many times as I can before it's my turn to leave.
