the game is not a game
the sport is not a sport

a momentous non-call
cannot be allowed to "tarnish the shield"
as
no official statements until a week and a half later
'protects' with a slap;
not just to one team's fans
but to all fans
of what was long purported to be a... game.

pro football no longer differs from pro wrestling

as this billion dollar super payday
is the culmination
not of a competition
but of an anti-trust absolved business year.

...i'll be binging something on netflix
thanks, roger...

I'm unfortunately being dragged to a Superbowl party to watch this predictable mess.

Today is an excuse to share some food and libations with friends.

There will be some chicken appendages and bacon wrapped asparagus cooked on the grill. Chips, dips, finger food, etc. Looking at the invite list, the Canadian whisky and Hawaiian rum supply will take a good hit.

I love my new job. I didn't even remember today was Superbowl Sunday. I was tickled pink when I realized that. :D

I'm watching foggy/rainy golf. :p

I'm listening to music, getting ready for a bubble bath soon and later making a galette. The apples are macerating and the pastry is setting up in the fridge. I see no reason to engage in any of this sportsing. :cattail:

It's so grey and gloomy here, I'm glad to say it's the same in Phoenix.

What's the main course for the dessert?

Bubble bath? Pics or I don't believe you. :p

Cleaver’s great and all, but do we really need a new Superbowl thread every year?

Omelette. With toast.

Bubble baths. Far superior and far more useful than the Superbowl.

Ah....breakfast dinner. With a nice slice of warm heaven for dessert.

And just as exciting? :p

My days of eat, sleep, breath football were ended once I stopped playing. Knowing what those men are about to endure, gives me little interest in watching. Hope they all keep safe and will still be healthy come morning.

Lol, he missed that kick. I hope their asses lose.

Damn these refs with whack calls, they always go for the Cheatriots.

Galette is in the oven. I'm a bit slow tonight after the nice warm bath. We'll see what happens with the omelette.

You all are not missing anything, this game is drier than a California raisin. Two of the most boring teams of the NFL. Saints would have brought sass to this game, but the refs gypped them.

At least Pats whiffed one FG.

It’s not very interesting. There’s a lot of stopping for a game that’s an hour long. They get penalised for head clash but they can clothesline a person? Fucken what? Haha!

Also, why are there so many people on the sidelines? Do they need to be there? Players need the room, don’t they? Weird.

The NFL rule book:

https://operations.nfl.com/media/3277/2018-nfl-rulebook_final-version.pdf

Only 89 pages. That's why they need "rules analysts". lol

They could move the stands back a bit, but that would mean less tickets sold.
