I'm trying to learn how to use my photo software, please don't pay me any attention because I have no clue what I'm doing.

Well....

They say PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT; and from the looks of things, I'd say you have been PRACTICING.

:)

UGH!!!! I can't work on the same pic because once you post it, you can't post it again.
Every time I reduce the pic and save it, when I post it, it posts as the original size, and not the reduced size that I saved it as. I just don't get it.
I give up.

Hi MrBates!:) Thank you, lol, but apparently practicing isn't gonna apply here.

I can't help with the size thing, but I do believe if you just rename the same picture you can post it more than once.

BTW, that first pic is a very nice shot. :)

I think the best resizing program is MS Paint.

If you need help just let me know, I should be able to help you out.

Thank you very much.:)

I tried that and it worked with the initial post. See, both of these pics are in my pic thread, so they were already posted before I posted them here. It let me do it the first time, but once I attempted posting them (resized, renamed) the 2nd time, it wouldn't let me.

BennyBoobs, I have Adobe PhotoDeluxe Home Edition 3.0 and it is a bitch to use. I resized by percentages, such as 50%, or 33%, and then saved the pics. Every time I posted them, it didn't post the reduced shots, it posted the original shots. Also, doing them by percentage doesn't help me much because I am resizing for av use, and avs have to be 150X150 pixels. A percentage doesn't give me the exact size, if you know what I mean?
I appreciate your help, thanks.

Try using sketch and skew function is ms word.

It's sooo easy.

Umm, come again?:D Sketch and skew apparently are options, but what is ms word, in relation to pics?

PS: I'm not exactly computer savvy.

Sorry I was distracted by your lovely avatar.

I meant ms paint.

You find it by going to start, accessories, then paint.

Once in paint open the picture you want to edit then click on image on the top then sketch/skew and it will resize it based on percentages.

It's very simple.

By the way you are very beautiful.

That does seem easy, and I'll give it a try. I did open it up, but when I clicked on "file" to browse for a pic to work on, none of my pics were in "My Documents". ALL my pics are in "My Documents", so I am a little confused at the moment.
I'll figure it out, and thank you for the very nice compliment, and for your time.:)

Here's what you do don't open up ms paint yet.

Find the picture in My Documents and right click and select edit and it will open up ms paint automatically with your picture for you to crop it.

Oh thank you! I could not figure out why they weren't there, so I surely do appreciate the tip! You're very kind.:)

LOL, oops!:D

Thank you Sir, I appreciate that.

BB, yes, I saw you over there, with your little bold self!:D Gotta admire your style, lol!
Thank you, that was a very nice thing to say.:)

hotstik, thanks, I'll check it out, and I appreciate your offer.

well, I'd have to say, I'm loving the practice you've done....but I have one question...will you be practicing more?

Photo deluxe

You will find that program to be more capable than it appears frseh from the box if you turn on the advanced menus. Turn on Advanced Menus from the lower left corner of PhotoDeluxe. Once that is done, you will find handier choices for resizing available to you.

I have a copy of Adobe photo deluxe, and can easily load it up if you wish for some more detailed assistance.

lovely photo by the way.

Best wishes

badmatt, well now, that depends. If you mean with the pics, then yes. You need to do a little snooping.;) If you mean with resizing the pics, that remains to be seen, lol. This software runs so slowly and I get so riled as it is because I can't stand it when I have no idea how to do something, so I end up feeling like I'm going to explode, and it doesn't go very well. I'm on my way to practice BB's last little tip, so cross everything you've got, please, and maybe chant a little something catchy, too?:D

Artifex, thats good advice, thank you. The problem with resizing by percentages is that I still don't know what equates to 150X150 pixels. Thats providing, ofcourse, that I can get the reductions saved when I actually make them.

I'll report any advances I happen to make, if I happen to make any, lol.

I really appreciate the fact that the people in this forum are so kind and helpful. Thank you.

It didn't work. When I clicked "edit", the only option it gave was "select all", and when I chose that, it simply darkened the pic. MS Paint never opened. I opened it manually, and still had the same situation I spoke of earlier, my pics didn't appear when I clicked on "file" to browse for the pic I wanted to work on.

I need a valium or four.

BB, never mind, I fixed it! When I opened the browse box to find the pic, it had selected "bitmap" files ONLY, when I chose "all files", my pics and everything else appeared!:D

Back soon.....

Intrugued there's a great little program that's easy to use when you want to view and resize pictures. It's free and you can get it here:

Thank you, ShyGuy. Since I'm on a roll now, lol, I'm going to keep at it, and if it drives me to drink, I'll click on your link.:D

You realize it will have to be a super easy program for me to use it, right???;)
