Hi Ljmo,

I had the most wonderful time on my trip. My granddaughter is amazing. She picks out the clothes she wants to wear each day and she loves to eat the heathiest foods. She is constantly on the go so I had to take a nap when she did to hope to keep up with her. We went to the zoo both weekends (her favorite place to go) and to the Rocky Mountains and saw the elk gather with their women. I have some beautiful scenic pictures.

I came home with a sore throat which has turned into a cough and cold. I have been working anyway and it is hard. My ribs hurt so much from coughing. I pray that I get over this soon.

I miss them all so much and missed you all while I was gone.

Praying for you

Jacqline,

I am praying that you will feel better soon. I am glad that you had such a good time on your trip.

I took my wife to her oncologist yesterday and he still has not said that she definitely had cancer. It is a good (bad) possibility that it is but more testing has to be done. He will not do anything for her here. He does not even want her to go to UCLA because of all of her risk factors. He is sending her to Houston some time next month and they will do more tests there. They will also do surgery no matter what they find. The mass has to be taken out and it needs the best vascular surgeons on board to do it.

I saw a urologist last week and he is going to do 16 biopsies next Wednesday. He said that because of the level of my PSA I have a 30% chance of cancer. Of course, I am praying for the 70%.

I am so glad that I have friends and family to lean on. It is them and their prayers that keep me going. I know that God is on my side, too, but having people remind me is a big help.

Bob,

I am so sorry that there is so much on your plate. It is good to know that your wife will be having the best surgeons taking care of her and getting that mass removed.

I am so sorry to hear that you are having to wait to find out what is going on with you. There is nothing that makes me crazier than waiting when we need to know something. Just know that all your friends here are praying for you both and wishing you only the best. You know that I am here for you.

It has been a very busy week so far here as well. I'm glad things went well with the surgery and will pray for continued good outcomes from any surgeries in the future.

It would be great if I could ever sleep through the night. I wake myself up coughing every night at least two or three times. I am tired............

Health

ljmo, I am glad to hear that things are going well up to now for your wife. I am praying that some day soon she will not have to keep going back for surgery.

Jacqline, I am praying that you are still doing well and that you have had a good time getting back to work after your great vacation.

My wife got a call from Houston today and she could go back for surgery in as little as two weeks. I'm not sure we are ready for that soon, but we'll go when ever we need to. I had my prostate biopsy today. What an experience! I could describe it but not delicately. I should have some results by next MOnday.

Whenever I get big things that happen to me, people remind me that we are never given more than we can handle. Sometimes I wonder why we all "get" to handle so much.

One thing I DO know is that we are here for each other through thick and thin and I want you to know that you are all constantly in my prayers and I continually send you my positive energy. Friends forever!

Last weekend I got to see my brother and sister in law and one of my friends. Sunday was doing the normal chores.

In the middle of the night before Monday, I coughed too hard and must have broken a rib. I have been in bad pain since. I did get some sleep in the recliner chair last night because it keeps me from moving too much.

((((((((((((((((((((((((Ljmo & family))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))Sending you lots of good things.

(((((((((((((((((((((((Bob & family))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))You are in my thoughts and prayers constantly. Please let me know how you are doing.

Jacqline

I am so sorry to hear about your rib. I have had friends who have done that. I hope that you did not break a rib but just pulled something.

My wife and I just got back from Houston today. The M.D. Anderson Cancer Center is an amazing hospital. I cannot believe how big it is, but the people are fantastic. We went there expecting surgery, but got a lot of things that we didn't expect. She went through about six hours of testing before seeing the surgeon. That was when we found out that she could not have surgery for a while. They found that she has a second tumor in her pelvic area in addition to the one in her groin and thigh. She has a leiomyosarcoma, which is one of the rarest of all cancers. These tumors are not just solid masses but have little finger-like projections sticking out of them. That is why they can't do surgery yet. First she is going to have to go through at least six months of chemo and then five weeks of radiation. We think that the chemo can be done right here at home and the radiation can be done either here or at UCLA, but the surgery will be done in Houston. It looks like we are going to have to make at least four more trips to Houston before we are all finished with her. When she has surgery, it will take at least 12-14 hours and need at least three surgery specialists. She also has a radiological oncologist and a medical oncologist.

Her medical oncologist said that she should wait to have her chemo start until after I have my surgery on Nov. 29 so that she can help me with my recovery before her chemo starts knocking her down.

nitebob!!

my thoughts and prayers are with yu and your wife!! hope all work out well!!

Bob,

I want you to know that you and your wife are always in my prayers (as is Ljmo & wife.) There is so much on your plate but never forget the people here who will always be there for you both. You are definitely not alone.

I feel that everything will go well with your surgery and trust the recovery will be quick. The time you are forced to rest will be good quality time with you and your wife to forget everything else and concentrate on each other. The other things will happen in their time.

I am still sore from the coughing but feel that you are most likely right. I must have pulled something. I still have to take the Aleve to hope to move around though.

Lots of love and hugs go out to everyone,

Ljmo,

I am so glad that you are having quality time with your son this weekend. We have to grab those opportunities and enjoying (and treasuring each and every minute). Have a wonderful weekend!

I was gone from 9 am yesterday until about 7 pm. I had so many errands to do but took time to visit a friend in the middle of it so it was a great day. Today will be doing housework, etc, but that is ok, it is what is needed.

I can remember how hard it is to send a loved one off for duty..........my oldest brother went to Vietnam. It must be doubly hard for family and a fiancee. I am happy that you will get him again for Thanksgiving.

Thanks for the words of encouragement.......It is still sore but not as bad as it was. Have a great day and week.
