Sorry to sound nasty but there's folks really suffering badly out there and have lost there family friends and their homes. The price of gas is a small price to pay.

My heart breaks for the families that lost their loved ones and their homes. Many prayers go out to them and I am thrilled how the country is gathering together to take people in and keep people going with food, clothing, etc. We are getting a lot of people coming here to live from the affected areas and we are on the other side of the US. God be with all.

Good to see you, Ljmo. Sorry I haven't been here for awhile. Things have been crazy at work and lots going on in my life.

I ended up selling my property to a whole different buyer and I pray it will close by the end of the week since the insurance on it runs out the 19th. I am so grateful that I will soon be rid of it. It has been nothing but adding total stress to my life for 1 1/2 years now.

I am counting the days until I get to see my daughter, son in law, and get to hold my sweet angel!

Back from Denver

Jacqline,

I am so glad that things are going your way, even with a lot of hard work.

My wife and I got back from Denver this morning where we got good news and bad news. Her doctor told her that her AVM was completely gone and we don't have to worry about it anymore. We do not have to go to Denver any more. She will have to have another angiogram in two years, but that can be done right here at home by one of his collegues. Unfortunately, while he was doing the angiogram, he saw something that he didn't like. He had a CT scan done and a biopsy done and is afraid that a soft-tissue mass that she has in her left groin is a sarcoma. He said that there is a chance that it could be something else, but he would look for the worst and be happy with less. No matter what it turns out to be, it is going to have to be removed. That can't be done locally. It will need a team of surgeons at UCLA. It will be so risky because even the slightest knick in the wrong place she could be paralized, have a swollen leg like Elaphantiasis, have pain the rest of her life or even loose her leg.

I guess our whole trip was a story of good and bad. We got to stay at our friends house again while we were there. Unfortunately, they left for a month trip five hours before we got there and we didn't even get to see them.

I hope that your trip will be so much better than ours. I am sure that it is going to be. My prayers will be going with you.

Bob,

I would focus on the positives here. Once this mass is removed, the incredible pain that your wife has been through because of that area could be alleviated. Think of how her quality of life will improve and have everyone you know(including me) pray for a positive outcome. If we all gather to pray for her, she is bound to come out great. Start a prayer thread for people who need them and state your prayer needs. I am sure that it will flourish.

The strategy is focusing on a positive outcome and counting on it instead of obsessing on the negatives. I don't know if you are familiar with the phrase "where thoughts go, energy flows" but it is true. If you concentrate on the negative things that could happen, you are actually attracting them to be the results. Keep positive and know that your friends are here for you always.

Hello, my furball! I hope that you are well. I have missed you, to be sure.

I still have two houses in that depressed area that are doing fine. It seems that, as a rule, people take better care of houses they rent than one bedroom apartments. The people that rented #1 & #2 on the first floor of the 4 plex, not only didn't pay their rent, it took a few months to get them out and they left so much trash there, that it cost me so much money to have it disposed of. To top things off, they destroyed the fixtures, etc. I don't understand why people have to be that way but it would have cost me so much money I don't have to get it back in rental shape. It will be worth it to be rid of the stress it caused me to be rid of it. Also, it was a huge drain on my savings to pay the payments. It is a deal of cutting my losses.

I have seen recent pictures of my little angel and I can't wait to hold her, read to her, take her to the park, and all sorts of fun things (not to mention totally spoiling her).

I will be there in 12 days!!!!!

The first one was when she was a day old to clear her airway so she could breathe through her nose. The second one I was there for, when she had her open heart surgery at eight months old to cure the hole in her heart. She comes from strong stock and has a very special reason to be here.

Yes, it would be very nice to have someone come into my life to spoil and to spoil me back. One can hope..........

I find things are starting to really get tough for me at work right now. I come home every day with a headache. I think it is partly due to needing my vacation so badly and being overworked and looking forward to my vacation. It will be here soon.

I'll count down the days with you until you get your vacation. I know that you will have a good time and I hope that you will have good weather while you are in Denver. When we were there, it rained on the first day ans snowed on the mountains, but cleared up and was beautiful the rest of the time. Now all you have to do is relax little bit at work. I am actually having a good time at work. I have lost three employees in the last month because they had to go back to school so things have been rather tight. I have hired two new cashiers and will get a new tech by the end of next week so things are going to get much better. I am really enjoying my interaction with my patients and that is getting me a lot of positive feed back. Even though my body is in pain by the end of the day, I still feel good.

Thanks for the wonderful thoughts. I am so looking forward to my trip!!!! I asked my daughter what kind of clothes to pack for the trip and she said, "Pack for everything!" I guess in Denver, it can change thirty degrees in 5 minutes. She said it has been like 80 degrees during the day but night time is cold and it could snow at anytime for a short while. I know that we are going to go to the Rocky Mountains, so I need to bring warm clothes for that. What the heck, I will take my large suitcase.

You are right, my week ended better than I could have imagined!

The 4plex closed on Friday, so I no longer have that financial and emotional drain on me anymore. I feel so blessed and am so grateful for that.
Today I am doing MANY loads of laundry. As I go, I will pack for the trip.

Yes, I do have diabetes. I am sure that now that this huge stress is off of me with the building being out of my life, it will be easier to keep in check. I think that my boss is hiring someone else to work up front with me, so that should help my stress level there. The bad thing is that I work so many long hours during the week that the only time I have to exercise is on the weekend.

Visiting my daughter and family will also be good medicine. (Not to forget the fact that they are both physicians.) I am sure they will go over things with me as well.

I seem to remember that you went through a lot of difficult things. How are you?

I have some good news also. Monday, my wife's doctor's nurse from Denver called and told us that mass in her leg was very likely not a cancer. That is a change from what they told us in Denver. We just have to wait now for our internist to tell us more next week.

One day from now, I will be boarding that plane for Denver. I finished my story for my granddaughter and will record it to disk tonight. How many lucky girls have a story written just for them? She will be able to ask Mommy and Daddy to play it for her whenever she wants and my voice will be reading to her. I am going to write a story for my grandson and have it recorded for him for Christmas. Long after I am gone, they will be able to hear my voice reading to them the story created just for them.

I don't know if I will be back before I leave tomorrow so if I am not, just know that I will be thinking about my friends here. I will be back on October 9th mid afternoon.
