Eastern European corner

It’s late where you are. You are so very young, but you need to get your sleep soon.
Nevertheless, when you are ready, I am very interested to hear your story of how you came to move to Latvia. I ask , in particular, because a Russian girl came to stay with us in the 1990s, a time of great openness in Russia.
We kept in touch with her for many years, but now I am afraid that communicating with Americans would be dangerous for her.
My parents took the decision. Because of the war.

No, communicating with Americans isn't dangerous. The things dangerous are either sending money to any organization labelled as 'extremist' or writing something that would get you under the 'misinformation about the Russian army'. At least this is my impression. I am not really into politics. I am depressive-prone enough without delving into politics.
