I am praying that you will feel better soon. I am glad that you had such a good time on your trip.
I took my wife to her oncologist yesterday and he still has not said that she definitely had cancer. It is a good (bad) possibility that it is but more testing has to be done. He will not do anything for her here. He does not even want her to go to UCLA because of all of her risk factors. He is sending her to Houston some time next month and they will do more tests there. They will also do surgery no matter what they find. The mass has to be taken out and it needs the best vascular surgeons on board to do it.
I saw a urologist last week and he is going to do 16 biopsies next Wednesday. He said that because of the level of my PSA I have a 30% chance of cancer. Of course, I am praying for the 70%.
I am so glad that I have friends and family to lean on. It is them and their prayers that keep me going. I know that God is on my side, too, but having people remind me is a big help.

Jacqline, I am praying that you are still doing well and that you have had a good time getting back to work after your great vacation.
My wife got a call from Houston today and she could go back for surgery in as little as two weeks. I'm not sure we are ready for that soon, but we'll go when ever we need to. I had my prostate biopsy today. What an experience! I could describe it but not delicately. I should have some results by next MOnday.

Nightbob said:I am so sorry to hear about your rib. I have had friends who have done that. I hope that you did not break a rib but just pulled something.
My wife and I just got back from Houston today. The M.D. Anderson Cancer Center is an amazing hospital. I cannot believe how big it is, but the people are fantastic. We went there expecting surgery, but got a lot of things that we didn't expect. She went through about six hours of testing before seeing the surgeon. That was when we found out that she could not have surgery for a while. They found that she has a second tumor in her pelvic area in addition to the one in her groin and thigh. She has a leiomyosarcoma, which is one of the rarest of all cancers. These tumors are not just solid masses but have little finger-like projections sticking out of them. That is why they can't do surgery yet. First she is going to have to go through at least six months of chemo and then five weeks of radiation. We think that the chemo can be done right here at home and the radiation can be done either here or at UCLA, but the surgery will be done in Houston. It looks like we are going to have to make at least four more trips to Houston before we are all finished with her. When she has surgery, it will take at least 12-14 hours and need at least three surgery specialists. She also has a radiological oncologist and a medical oncologist.
Her medical oncologist said that she should wait to have her chemo start until after I have my surgery on Nov. 29 so that she can help me with my recovery before her chemo starts knocking her down.

I am so glad that you are having quality time with your son this weekend. We have to grab those opportunities and enjoying (and treasuring each and every minute). Have a wonderful weekend!
I was gone from 9 am yesterday until about 7 pm. I had so many errands to do but took time to visit a friend in the middle of it so it was a great day. Today will be doing housework, etc, but that is ok, it is what is needed.
