How I joined because one person kind of interested me and soooo many people have messaged me in the past ten minutes. Is that a normal thing on this site? I can't tell if people are welcoming or just looking straight for something else.

What I find funny is that your one post is to complain about the number of messages you recieved after joining but before posting any messages. I have been here for 5 years and have 100+ posts and probably haven't gotten more than 70 or 80 pm's.
How did you, with no posts, (prior to this one complaining about pm messages already recieved) manage to attract enough attention to get so many messages?

And how is this a GLBT issue?

Is it complaining? Because I definitely did not mean it that way. I was just surprised at how fast I received messages.

And I am probably making a typical newbish mistake of posting a wrong thread under a wrong topic.

Oooooh. It's definitely in the wrong topic. I realize that now. I saw "Chatter" and was thinking this was a chat topic. I didn't see a typical chat area.
