From time to time I clear my Ignore list before repopulating it again over the next week.

It rarely reaches a total of five names but often those names are banned before reappearing with a slightly amended version. Today one on the GB has reached iteration #21. My ignore list was still 4 digits behind.

Why are there so many assholes who are incapable of sticking to the rules?

I know. There is never a shortage of assholes.

So much for "computers are easy" and similar sentiments issued by the computer maker.
"Of course it's simple; that's what the idea is." This from some 'knowledgable' chap (it's usually male), talking about plugging in an external hard drive into the USB port/s.

What they don't tell you is how to tell Windoze to know, love and understand that there is a new hard drive available (all I wanna do is a temporary backup). After all it was enough to format the bloody thing.

Anyone any ideas please?
Win XP pro, Win 10, 500G drive.

<gnash, groan, mutter>

The great secret of all good troubleshooters is just google. Without more to go on, I couldn't guess, but searching for "windows 10 external hard drive" brings up what looks like relevant topics, including others who say they've had the same problem with getting Win 10 to recognize external drives. You can also try adding in search terms, like the specific brand of drive you're using. Also double-check that the USB port itself isn't acting funky by plugging in other stuff.

Mine has Win XP Pro, not 10, but I get the point thanks.
Look out Google!

Sometimes I when I wonder what I have to do tomorrow I feel like giving up and going to sleep. Then I can't sleep because I'm worried about what I have to do tomorrow. Then I get up again, make a list on my phone, get the stuff ready..
Then finally when it's done I get to erase it off my list. And THEN I realize what I had been missing in my life- the ecstasy of pulling out a roll of paper and slashing the fuck out of a a physical to-do list.
Yes.. that's what I need. And a nice, inky black pen that makes a swoosh sound as I slit through my list.

Remind me please, never to get in front of an angry you holding that knife.

Note of Disapproval.
To the makers of sweeping brushes, Greeting.
I do wish that you makers would have a decent and [above all] solid connection between the handle and the brush part.
That plastic joint is NOT child-proof.
So would you please provide spare parts for the damned things ?
Thank you.

A knife? It's a pen I want! Nice, sharp nibbed, bleeding ink..

About the sweeping brushes: We got screw on types, so if the handle breaks you can buy a new one, and keep the broken one for beating up-uhhh, self defense.

Oh the handle has not broken. It's the thing that holds the handle to the brush bit.
Ain't there a mode of self-defence using staves (apart from Quarter-staff) ??

I'm a simple man. I take stick, I beat the shit out of the object to be beaten, no skills required.

Kendo and Escrima come to mind, and whichever martial arts uses Kali sticks. My head's a sieve today.

I buy mine from a local brush maker who still uses solid wooden connections between the head and the handle. He would repair them for me, but his prices are so reasonable that I buy a new one when the brush head wears out. It NEVER becomes disconnected.
