I buy mine from a local brush maker who still uses solid wooden connections between the head and the handle. He would repair them for me, but his prices are so reasonable that I buy a new one when the brush head wears out. It NEVER becomes disconnected.
If I had the correctly sized drill bit for the existing handle, I'd drill the thing in proper;
with good glue, too!
