To @anthrodisiac, @Duil2, @TheWritingGroup, @Kumquatqueen, @TheOneUpright, @twinklingtatas, @Bamagan, and anyone else who reads this Funny Memes thread. How do you manage the number of posts per day? How much time do you spend each day? Do you randomly sample? Do you skim? Do you read every post?

I try to read every post because there are usually a few gems, especially ones that I want to share with my pun obsessed hubby. But also because I'm kind of addicted. And curious as to how long SmuttyAndFun can keep this up.

To @Smuttyandfun, how do you do this? Do you post one at a time, or do you have some sort of automated system that scoops up posts from different locations? How do you find your many sources?

Miscellaneous factoids about the meme thread:
On Saturday, Jul 25, ten full pages and 2 partial pages were submitted for a total of 307 posts. The first was at 12:00 am and the last at 10:57 pm. It feels to me like Saturday was pretty typical.

P.S. Does anyone know what became of lovecraft68, who started this thread?

The way I manage it is that each morning I click into the thread, go to the last page and work my way back to the last post I can remember seeing before or reacted to. I absolutely love reading every post which doesn't take that long as I tend to react quickly. If I chuckle to myself I using apply an emoji reaction of similar. If I saw 'wow' to myself, that's my reaction. Some I 'love' and others I just pass by because either I don't understand them or they don't evoke a reaction. There have only been an odd one or two that I share onwards, but then that's not my thing.
Personally, I love having lots to scroll through and that there are some there every day. Lifts me first thing in the morning - the time-zone difference works to my advantage. I hope they continue.

I don't think they've 'gotten lamer' as you put it. Since humour is totally subjective, if you're not finding them funny, maybe you just have a different sense of humour to those of us who do. Naturally, we all won't find all of them funny, but I know that an effort is made to put in a wide mix in the hope that the majority of people will get a laugh somewhere along the way.

Quality and quantity tend to be on opposite ends of the teeter totter.

The higher throughput is also increasing the frequency of reposts.

The quantity also increases the chances of everyone finding something to make them laugh. If you don't like the approach taken on this thread there's always the More Humour one that you might like better. I really enjoy this one and would hate for it to change.

I simply stated objective facts. I offered no subjective opinions on the matter.

I understand where you're coming from, but it does nothing to dispute what I said.

I'm not skipping pages because they're lamer. That was just an add-on question. I'm skipping pages because it takes up too much of my day to read them all.

Regarding the volume, what I don't like is that the same fire-hose of memes is being duplicated in multiple meme threads. Now I just don't look at certain threads, even though I understand that the risk is, if I ignore a thread because it's mostly duplicates, I'm going to miss some unique memes (by other posters) which aren't duplicated in multiple threads. Since the one here in the AH is pretty much all posts by only that one poster, I'm ignoring that one.

The point is, I don't miss anything by ignoring the duplicates.

They go in fits and starts, depending on what collection they've been drawn from. I tend to find 80% of them reasonably amusing, maybe 10% are closer to old-fashioned sexist jokes, 10% are just horrible cutesy kittens, but on the whole I don't find anything offensive enough to stop me enjoying the thread, so I appreciate the service for a nice source of chilling-out material before bed.
