Is the AH nothing more than the GB?

Where's the end of that queue?

A year or two ago, there was a practice or discussion thread every other week. I seem to recall WildSweetOne starting a few of them. (If I recall correctly she was the initial instigator of the award winning Snippetsville Series).

Now it seems that the only writerly threads (I claim personal invention of the word writerly) are the ones where people (Charley!) bemoan the loss of writerly threads.

What the AH needs is another clique thread. (Or a 'guess the author' thread The.)

Edited to add; Damn you gosling, I just noticed your thread.

One last post, tonight. I do not bemoan the loss of them (writer threads), but I do try at every turn to discuss writing or sex because that is why I came here and that is what still interests and fascinates me about a site called "LITEROTICA". I am sad that neither of these topics really interest many people who claim to enjoy both. I post to dumb ass threads like you do ...and I create dumb ass threads like this one for a purpose and why people post to my dumbass threads more than my writer ones? Well, I have an inkling ... and I could go on, Gauche. Will it matter in the end? No. And I know it.

You almost got it right, Byron.

In the GB, you murdered the rabbit by flaming it to death. The the AH picks it up and makes rabbit stew :p
I never murdered a rabbit.

My victims are mostly bugs.

Last weekend Grace and - Equinoxe? - I'm blanking, were talking about pychology, and Freud vs. Wm. James. I referenced an speech by an author's who had just written a James bio that was playing on C-Span booktv that day. Equinoxe (?) had already watched part of it earlier. :) This "coincidence" struck me as not coincidence, but evidence of a rather intellectual tone here, or at least a well read group. Not that there aren't individuals on GB who could dive right in, but little erudite exchanges like that are less unusual here than there. (There are some awesomely clever people there, though - when someone like Kbate and Oscuridad start rolling with creative bon mots, all one can do is sit back and gawp in admiration.) But in general, I do believe AH is more well read, "literate," than GB, which is about what one would expect for a writerly place.
Yes, thank you, I am quite clever. </egomaniac>

Do you often lose things?

When that happens a lot I reccommend one of those little things that beep with a remote.

...

At least until the remote gets lost.

A beeping Charley. Hmmm... the idea has possibilities.

"Excuse me, ma'am. Your Charley just beeped."

Not sure what the winner gets...

As bizarre as Charley is, you would have to be completely normal to be her alt.
While it did include references to cars, a form of transportation, the theme of my post was my view of the differences between two Lit forums, not transportation per se as the guidelines specify. Also, it wasn't an actual story, but just a description of two fairly static scenes. So, I don't feel it fairly qualifies for inclusion in the contest you've referenced, but thanks to both of you for the thought.
