Sigh. I expected something more original from Charley.

You see? we do have important discussions here!champagne1982 said:Now my petals are all aflutter![]()
Well, not exactly. There are subtle differences. Imagine that political threads on the AH are like a field, and you see a barbed-wire fence in the distance. And near the fence is a large oak tree. Next to the oak tree is a shrubbery, possibly a juniper or something like that. Then, off to your left, is a road, on which a 1978 Chevrolet Caprice drives by. About halfway between yourself and the fence lies a dead rabbit. Now, political threads on the GB are much the same, but the fence posts are stone instead of wood, and on one of the wires of the fence is what appears to be a shred of cloth, as if someone had gone over the fence or between the wires of the fence in great haste, having just committed an exceptionally brutal rape or series of gruesome murders, for example. In place of the oak tree is a small grove of aspens. There is no shrubbery, but instead, a large rock shaped like an alien spacecraft, and the land rises off to the west of it. No Caprice is seen on the road, but a 1968 Impala, which is being pursued by an old Ford pickup truck mostly the color of rust. The reason for the pursuit is unknown, and there is no dead rabbit.Equinoxe said:Nonsense. The political threads on the AH are exactly the same as the political threads on the GB.

These are the differences I see between the two boards' political threads.

This really wasn't a 'good old days in the AH' thread. It was the rant of a woman whose writerly research inquiry was turned into a burlesque.shereads said:Hooray! We haven't had one of these 'What Happened to the Old Authors Hangout" threads in ever so long.
Next, can we have a debate about the propriety of penis photos as AVs?

But the more I skimmed through the thread, the more I thought of the Avatar of Charlieh, (I hate you if you are a guy) I wanted to glom onto....ah, never mind, you wouldn't understand anyway.
And I am not sure I can devote the time, but I love an interesting diversion and I may make a rather large splash in the GB pond should you be interested and have a wager on the results.
Bet on me. I never lose at anything.

The writer will come here for research purposes, and get help. Many a time. You've seen it too. Then go back to writing.SelenaKittyn said:*snerk*
Sometimes I wonder if those who complain about "not enough writing" threads just want an excuse to not be writing? They're rather talk ABOUT writing than actually sit down and WRITE!?
